Wool is also antiallergenic, flexible and very durable. University of Sydney studies have shown that wool sleeping apparel and bedding increases total sleep time, promotes sleep onset and improves sleep efficiency. To complement the natural wool, we also added natural cotton to give that luxury soft feel to the cover.The Natures Novel uses natural wool as fire retardant. This way the mattress passes fire laws and is not a fire hazard while staying healthy. Since its required by law, all mattresses must have a fire barrier. The law however does not restrict manufacturers from using chemicals as fire retardants, so most manufacturers take the cheap route.

The Natures Novel mattress is tested by OEKO-TEX and given the highest standard a mattress can get which is class 1 of OEKO-TEX certification. Class 1 means that a product is safe even for babies and toddlers! Natures Novel uses a layer of natural cotton and wool and that makes the cover. The natural wool and cotton cover add the overall comfort and firm support that the Natures Novel is well known for. This cover is hypoallergenic, healthy, durable, stretchy, and stays dry and temperature neutral. After the cover, you have a layer of natural Talalay latex. Our Talalay latex molds perfectly to the shape of your body. It is hypoallergenic, eco-friendly, and extremely durable. It is responsible for the excellent comfort and contouring of the mattress. Our Talalay latex is very breathable as its cells are 50% larger than traditional latex. After the Talalay latex layer, you have the Dunlop latex layer that is the perfect complement to Talalay latex. Our natural Dunlop latex has less give but more support than Talalay and keeps the back in a very good spinal alignment. Like our Talalay, our Dunlop latex is natural making it ideal for people with allergies and asthma as it is naturally mold, mildew and dust mite resistant. After this layer you have the Eco-Latex® layer that is responsible for the excellent firm support of the Natures Novel. This is an eco-friendly latex-like foam layer that acts as the firm foundation of the mattress so that different people with different weights, shapes and sizes feel well supported without sinking in too much. All these four layers work together in harmony creating a unique soft but firm design that is the result of many years of research and customer feedback.

On a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the firmest, the Natures Novel Firm has a 7.5 firmness rating. It has a Firm Support that will keep your back and neck aligned while being gentle on your shoulders, back, and hips. The Natures Novel Medium-Soft has a 5.0 firmness rating. By using a softer Talalay latex on top and the same firm support on the bottom, the Natures Novel Medium-soft mattress is the very definition of "Firm Support and Soft Comfort"
