When it comes to craigslist, most people associate it with an easy and quick way to find jobs or items for sale. Some people associate it with posting their jobs and items for sale. I bet you didn't know that there are a lot of other things about craigslist besides posting jobs and posting your items for sale.

The best way to use craigslist

When it comes to utilizing craigslist for personal gain, there are a few things you should know. Craigslist has over 50 million page views a year. That means that you need to make sure that your ad or posting stands out enough to catch the attention of just a small amount of viewers every day. For example, the best way to sell a car online would be to post it on craigslist with certain keywords to catch the attention of any one looking for that specific vehicle. The key word is important because without the key word, your ad can be overlooked by the enormous amount of ads and posting that are put up each and every day.

Why is craigslist free?

Besides using key words and having over 50 million page views a year, I bet you're wondering why craigslist is free to post certain ads and postings. How could something be free with that much traffic to a page and what does craigslist get out of it? Well, craigslist had free ads for a very long time, when they first started out actually. Because of the high traffic to the page, they had to start charging fees to post certain ads or jobs. Not everything is charged by craigslist, but they do have a list on their page that shows what you pay for and what is free.

How does craigslist know if something is a scam?

Putting trust in the people posting their ads was a part of craigslist, until scam after scam started popping up. Craigslist now has different ways for you to flag scams, as well as their own way of detecting a scam on the site. You can hit the flag button on the site and it will allow craigslist to look into the posting. The more scams that pop up, the more people should be flagging it. But what if no one flags it? Craigslist does have staff monitoring the site and they do check the site for scams. Sometimes a scam is as simple as reposting the same as numerous times to try to monopolize the competition on the site. That is not allowed according to the guidelines on craigslist and they will remove and block the poster.

Is craigslist legit

The answer is yes. Craigslist has been around for over 20 years and it will continue to grow and develop as more people contribute to their success. Because of all the checks and balances, the site is able to keep it as legit as possible and ensure your safety and security. Things have never been so easy before craigslist popped up!
