Why CBSE Books are not sufficient for Growth of Students?

The education needs of students are changing at a fast pace. We can no longer expect the traditional ways of teaching and old curriculum to meet these changing needs. World has become a small place to live and there is a huge competition globally. The need of the hour is to prepare and groom our students in such a way that they not only sustain the competition but also set a benchmark for others. When we change our education system, we grow as a nation.
The CBSE curriculum has been a mandate to follow in schools since ages in India. Most of the schools follow and prescribe CBSE textbooks online for pre-school. However, schools and parents need to understand that CBSE books no more suffice the ever-changing requirements of an up-to-date curriculum. Students need more information than what is actually been provided in these books. Most of the students have been referring to NCERT books apart from the CBSE textbooks online for pre-school. The NCERT is taking initiatives to match its foot with global education needs; however, we need to bring more innovation and creativity when it comes to thinking about transforming our education system.
Why CBSE Books are not enough for learning?
- Many books have become outdated and the data and statistics have become irrelevant. The basic concepts are explained well but students need reference books for learning any topic thoroughly.
- The courses offered by other curriculums are far more advanced than CBSE so the students face difficulty in maintaining their pace while competing with global schools.
- The books are not sufficient to prepare for competitive exams such as IIT, JEE and others.
