Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research (BIHER) is a well-known institution in Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Bharath University. The institute has been given the status of ‘Deemed to be University’. While talking about its accreditation and recognition, Bharath University has been accredited with grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The institute commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1984 and has been working towards imparting multi-stream, multi-culture and higher education to society. It has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Research Activities of Bharath University

The Research activities of the university have significantly accelerated from the past few years. The university provides Extensive Research facilities that were primarily created to promote innovative research. The students and faculty members of the university are encouraged and motivated to innovate through quality research in emerging areas.

About Research

The Research Department of the university was established during the session 2002-2003. The university has emerged as one of the top leading universities in the country. Each department of Research possesses laboratory and experimental facilities. These laboratories have been equipped with the most recent technologies and are defined to handle high-end research.

There are several research activities conducted at the university premises and these activities include Academic Research and funded projects. These projects are executed in the field of Faculties of Engineering & Technology, Medical & Health Sciences, and Science & Humanities.

Academic Research plays a huge role for those seeking to pursue a doctorate degree. The students willing to pursue their career in the field of research are provided with a variety of specializations to choose from. There are qualified and experienced researchers to guide students and provide them with quality education.

The Research Center for Robotics primarily deals with the branch of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering. These branches are particularly known for design, construction, functions, and application of Robots as well as of computer systems. For the creation of robots, robotic systems, and the reason why robots are able to work properly, a robotics engineer is responsible. The objective of Research Center for Robotics is to encourage and facilitate fundamental robotics research. The Center for Aerospace Technology focuses on becoming a benchmark research center for the students willing to pursue in the field of Aerospace Technology. It believes in providing solutions to problems predominantly in the area of Aerospace Sciences.

The Center of Excellence for Prototyping in Nanotechnology came into existence in the academic year of 2013. It was built to pursue research and support collaborative and education in the field of Material Science and Technology. The Center of Excellence for Paper Based Microfluidics was established with an objective to enable researchers in key areas of microfluidics
