The Indian Institute of Management (Kashipur), commonly known as IIM Kashipur, became a part of the elite league of IIMs in the academic year of 2011. The institute is located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. The institute was established under the supervision of IIM Lucknow. The institute was established with the primary objective of providing quality management education. IIM Kashipur offers various management programs at the postgraduate level and these programs are offered under several specializations.

About Fellow Program in Management

IIM Kashipur offers various postgraduate programs for the students willing to pursue their career in the field of management. There are several specializations to each of the programs, thus offering students a pool of options to choose from. The programs include Post Graduate Program in Management, Executive Post Graduate Program in Management, Executive Fellow Program in Management, and Fellow Program in Management. Out of these five programs, Fellow Program in Management is the most searched and desired one.

The program is a full-time residential program offered at the Doctorate level. The basic idea of generating the program was too academic and research needs of professional. The program bridges the gap between the institute and industry. There are various complex issues in the field of management, which are generally identified by the scholars and the fellow program provides students with the necessary skills to tackle the issues they face.

Objectives of the Program

• The program encourages and motivates the students to carry out research in the field of management.

• To provide students with proper and necessary understanding, and skills to identify issues in the field of management.

• To evolve proficiency among potential scholars for the future in the field of management research.

The program consists of three stages namely Coursework, Comprehensive Exam and Viva Voce, and Thesis Work. Each stage contributes to the final result attained by the students. The coursework of the first year consists of a Summer Project conducted at the end of the first year. The students are required to go through the Independent Study or Summer Project on relevant field.

After the coursework, the students must take a Comprehensive Examination. This examination concludes the respective area of specialization. Thesis stage comes after qualifying the comprehensive examination. The students start working under the guidance of a Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC). After the completion, the most deserving candidates are awarded the title ‘Fellow of Indian Institute of Management Kashipur’.

Institutional Support

The institute strives hard to support its students to its maximum extent. It provides substantial infrastructure and financial support to its FPM Scholars. The institute houses a resource center that has fully stacked collection of almost 7000 printed books. Besides these printed books, the institute has also subscribed for a volume of online books and the important journals. These printed books, online subscription, and journals are provided in the field of management and other related disciplines.
