Creatures In The Wild Are Fine. In Your Home They Are Not

There are lots of wild creatures that most people think are harmless, many people love, and a few have no interest in at all. If you watched something like the recent series of Springwatch on the BBC you will have seen birds hatching, badgers roaming about at night, perhaps rabbits, squirrels nesting, foxes, golden eagles, and many more wild creatures living the way that they do in their natural habitat.

All of which is fine. Lovely to see all these creatures in their native habitat living their lives the way that they do. (As an aside, the study of nature is one thing that the BBC does very well).

However, many of those same creatures may visit you in your garden, or enter your home uninvited, and when they do that these "lovely creatures" turn from that into pests. The very same creatures that we may have been "oohing" and "aahing" about yesterday become a real nuisance, and even a danger, when they stray from their own habitat and try to take over ours.

And it is a fact that when they decide for whatever reason to make your home, or business, their home, they really do become what we call pests. Even those fluffy little bunnies that looked great last week don’t look so great when they are demolishing your runner beans, peas, cabbages, lettuces, and more, right under your nose.

The same thing applies to, for example, foxes. In the wild we may be distressed if people try to hunt them. When they get into your garden and kill your chickens you want them shot! Yet, in the case of the vixen, she will only take one chicken to feed her cubs. (A dog fox, on the other hand will kill all the chickens that you have, whether that is three or twenty-three).

Other wild creatures may simply scare us. Wasps, for instance. Here we are, hundreds of times larger than they are, and yet we run a mile because they can sting us. And they will do if they think we are a threat to them.

Of course, there are other wild creatures that nobody likes, such as rats and mice. This is because we think them dirty and likely to bring disease into our homes, and indeed they will. Some people actually keep mice as pets, which is fine if they are controlled. But when you have mice loose running about your kitchen, hiding in the cupboard under the sink, leaving trails of urine about wherever they go (which they do), leaving droppings (which they also do), then you want them out of there as fast as possible. Even if your child keeps pet mice, you would still want the wild ones out of your house.

So as far as wild creatures are concerned, how we view them really depends on where they are and what they are doing. In the wild, fine. In our kitchen or living room, not allowed. This is when you start to go online and search for something such as "pest control near me in Hull" because you need them out of there, and you want them gone fast.

Of course, you are actually quite right. When those creatures are in your home, they are invaders. It is exactly the same as if you marched into your next-door neighbour’s home and tried to take it over. You might have been friends for 30 years, but if you invade their personal space, they want you gone. Fair enough, you may not be carrying any diseases but that is not the point.

However, when you have creatures entering your home or your garden, they can be carrying many diseases. These may not harm them, but can actually be lethal to you. For instance, rats can carry Weil’s disease which can be fatal to humans. Even if they do not carry diseases which could possibly be fatal, they can nonetheless pass on some which can cause severe discomfort.

So when you see these unwanted visitors in your home or garden you are quite right to search for "pest control near me in Hull" because you need the services of a company that can remove them, and remove them all, for good.
