Are you tired and bored of wearing your regular denim? Do you feel suffocated in that thick fabric that barely lets any air pass through it? If yes, then leggings are for you.

These super smooth bottom wears are generally made of cotton and lycra with a little amount of spandex. Some other leggings incorporate polyester as well. However, if you want to experience the ultimate comfort, then we suggest you only stick to the cotton type leggings. Additionally, leggings tend to have a body-hugging look that makes your legs more defined. Why hide those calf muscles, when you have worked so hard to get them?

In this article, we will be talking about the various types of leggings and how to style them.

Types of Leggings

  • Plain (monochrome) Leggings- This type of leggings for women are widely available. In fact, the ethnic type leggings generally tend to be plain. These are generally thinner than the other and are best suited if you team them with kurtis of any length.
  • Floral Printed- Floral prints were always in fashion, and they still are. These floral printed leggings look awesome with plain tops.
  • Chequered Leggings- This type of leggings come in various colors, and they have many chequered patterns. You can choose large checks or miniature ones, depending on your liking. These leggings render a very fashionable look to the wearer and appear best when they are teamed with casual tank tops for a carefree look, or formal shirts, for a semi-formal look.
  • Fish-scale Printed Leggings- If you want to look starkly out of the box, then a pair of fish-scale leggings are for you. These have a certain type of color that range from blue to green to black. This type of attire will render you a quirky look and make your persona stand out. You can wear spaghetti tops or team these up with jackets with heavy accessorizing for a complete look.
  • Partly Sheer Leggings- This type of leggings is trending. These types of leggings are perfect for party wears. They are generally monochrome (usually black) with sheer panels or motifs. Bling tops look the best with these leggings.
How to Accessorize Right when Wearing Leggings

In this section, we shall cover the ways to accessorize correctly when you are wearing leggings. Now as we all know, in India, leggings are used both as fusion wear and as purely western wear.

1. Leggings: Fusion Wear

If you are wearing leggings as fusion wear, it means that you will probably be wearing leggings with a kurti. In that case, make sure that you accessorize your toe well. You might not believe it, but people do pay special attention to the toes. Peculiarly, it is more so when a girl is clad in Indian wear.

So, wear anklets and paint your toe-nails really well when wearing leggings with a kurti. You can as well wear a few toe-rigs, but that is completely optional.

2. Leggings: Western Wear

Leggings for women look exceptionally good when girls use it as western wear. There is a plethora of options available for western wear leggings. However, it takes a little bit of accessorizing to get the look right.

  • The first thing is the choice of tops. You will have to choose the top-wear according to the kinds of leggings you have chosen.
  • As leggings tend to give a skinny look to the lower half of the body, you might want to put on a jacket to add a little bulk to the upper half, so that you do not look too skinny.
  • Junk jewelry with leggings does the trick. If you are wearing a pair of leggings, you might want to put on a couple of bracelets to complete the look. However, avoid this step if you are wearing your leggings to a semi-formal event.
