The UK Gets 2019 Subaru Levorg 2.0L Atmo Four
Posted: Jul 18, 2019
As your local Perth car dealers, we like to keep you apprised about Subaru car news from around the world. This is useful because certain models can make their way here to Australia at a later date or we may see a close approximation. We’ve recently learned about a new and exciting Subaru Levorg release for the UK market; let’s see what this model has to offer.
The Subaru Levorg
If you visit Subaru car dealerships in Perth, you will notice the Levorg wagon. It’s an excellent family vehicle, and it offers a real alternative to those drivers that don’t want to hop on the SUV bandwagon with everyone else. However, the Levorg hasn’t had an update for a while, so it’s interesting to see a new variant offered in the UK. This revision had dropped the usual 1.6 litre turbo for a 2.0 litre naturally aspirated power plant. This Levorg also has a some revised styling touches and even more safety tech on board.
The Levorg 2.0i GT
As your Subaru car dealers in Perth, we can’t wait to find out if this model will be heading here. This new UK market release is known as the Subaru Levorg 2.0i GT, and it’s certainly a show stopper. Compared to the replaced this Levorg features a revised front bumper, adaptive LED headlights, LED fog lights, a new "sharper" grille and a lovely set of 18" alloy wheels.
Under the Bonnet
Here we can find the major change, and that’s the new engine that we briefly mentioned above. The Levorg 2.0i GT has discarded the 1.6 litre turbo, and a new 2.0 litre atmo "boxer" engine has been fitted. This power plant generates 110kW of power at 6,200 rpm and 198 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. This is likely to be similar to the new engine that we recently saw in the Subaru XV crossover. However, that particular unit does have a little more grunt with 115kW of power and 196 Nm of torque. The new engine will paired with a lineartronic continuously variable transmission and of course the all wheel drive system that defines Subaru releases.
In the Cabin
There are a few subtle revisions to the switchgear, door panels, and instrumentation displays. The driver's seat now has powered adjustable lumbar support, and the rear seat seating has a useful 40/20/20 split. Entertainment and feedback are managed by a 7" infotainment system with Apple CarPlay andAndroid Auto support and a satellite navigation system.
Australian Availability
We have to go back to August 2017 for the last Subaru Levorg update here in Australia. This delivered the (then) new 1.6 litre turbo and some similar sorts of design touches that we can see on the new Levorg 2.0i GT. At the moment the official work is that we will not see any imminent changes to the Levorg line up here.
