'Subbaiah Institute of Dental Sciences' was established in the year 2014 under the aegis of Tadikela Subbaiah Trust (R) in Shimoga, Karnataka. Considered as one of the finest dental education institutions in Karnataka, it is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and, approved by the Dental Council of India. The institution is based upon the philosophies of the then agriculturist, visionary and educationalist, Sri. T. Subbaramaiah. Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital is attached to it.

St. Joseph Dental College was formed by the Most Rev. John Mulagada and rev. Father Bala. John Mulagada, Bishop of Eluru, the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Social Service Society in 2002. It has the pride of being the first dental college in the area. The institution envisions to serve the people of the community and lead them towards betterment by providing them with the best dental services. It is affiliated to the Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and approved by the Dental Council of India.

• Location-wise Differences:

Location is one of the significant factors when it comes to selecting a college.

Subbaiah Dental is located in Shimoga. If you are staying near Shimoga, then Subbaiah will be a better option for you.

If you belong to Andhra Pradesh and residing near Eluru, then you are suggested to select St. Joseph, for your dental education.

• Course-wise Differences:

Subbaiah Medical College Courses include the most advanced form of undergraduate dental course, the Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

St. Joseph Dental College Courses include both undergraduate and postgraduate level dental courses. Along with BDS, it offers 8-types of specializations in MDS programs.

If you are planning to do BDS, then both colleges will be good. But if you are desirous to do MDS, then St. Joseph is your only option. Subbaiah doesn't have MDS courses.

• Service-period-wise Difference:

Some of the students prefer colleges with longer experiences. Though quality of the services are directly not linked with experiences all the time. Still it is factor to consider for many students. St Joseph has started its journey in the year 2002, whereas Subbaiah was founded in the year 2014. Then again, a new infrastructure has always has its own privileges.
