Philanthropist fetes over 1,000 widows in Achi Community Enugu state ---
Puts smiles on the faces of poor nursing mothers, less privileged

Christmas was indeed merry for widows in Achi Community, Oji River Local government area of Enugu state. They smiled home carrying bags of rice, condiments to cook the rice with, wrappers to wear and look good among other gifts courtesy of Mr. Victor Obi-Anadiume and his wife, Lady U. Obi-Anadiume.
Before that Christmas largess, nursing mothers especially the poor in their midst who could not afford the numerous needs of their new enlarged family had reasons to thank God as Mr Obi-Anadiume supplied their needs.
That was why poor nursing mothers and widows in Achi Community, Oji River Local Government Area were indeed happy to God Almighty for the life of Mr. Victor Obi-Anadiume and wife Lady U Obi-Anadiume.
His Non Governmental Organization (NGO) known as Target Health Education and Economic Empowerment Initiative Foundation (THEEE INITIATIVE) performed both ceremonies weekend.
THEEE Initiative donated and distributed to nursing mothers, widows, and the less privileged over 1300 bags of rice, 1500 wrappers, 300 cartoons of tomatoes, complementary feeding cereals, high quality Milk and right nutrient composition among others worth over N14 Million.
Parish Priest of Saint John of God Akwu Achi, Very Reverend Fr Dr Michael.C. Onyehara, and Venerable CC Onyeso of Holy Trinity Anglican Church Akwu as well the Traditional Ruler of Amaetiti, Igwe Ralp Nzekwe all commended the founder of THEEE Initiative, Mr Obi-Anadiume for his magnanimity and selflessness to his people and prayed God to continue to guide him to live longer to continue to assist the people. They encouraged the beneficiaries to put what they benefited to good use to enable them recreate wealth through that.
Speaking to news express the founder/Chairman of the THEEE INITIATIVE, Mr. Victor Obi-Anadiume said his vision and mission was to assist government at all levels in reducing the level of poverty in Nigeria starting from South-East especially his home state Enugu and his home town Achi.

- for instance this NGO gave out N9 Million interest free revolving loan to the first set of beneficiaries numbering over 200 people, we gave a former Rangers footballer aspiring to play international, Mr Agozie Agu sponsorship to Qatar, Saudi Arabia for international club side at the tune of over N1.5 Million and One Blind Ifeanyi Iloegbunam is being sponsored for a retina detachment correction surgery worth hundreds of naira.
Anadiume informed that many communal disturbances could be avoided or minimized if youths, widows, orphans and less privileged got economically empowered meaningfully in one way or the other. He restated his commitment to invest on individuals who have no means but are promising and could return investment on them to the society.
The Chairman/ Founder THEEE INITIATIVE said he would sink a borehole at Obodo Ukwu square and would float a massive scholarship scheme for brilliant but indigent children at al levels of education by next year.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others Mrs Anthonia Orji, and Mrs Uche Mmaduakor expressed gratitude to the NGO for being their messiah.
They informed that Mr Obi-Anadiume and wife Lady U had earlier given vehicles to people and have houses built for others. They further said churches and musical groups were given buses as a support and that they were not surprised that they remembered them. They therefore prayed God to keep him and his wife alive to enable them continue to survive from their largess and goodwill.
They even prayed that anybody with evil intention against their benefactors will meet with the wrath of God. They described Anadiume as a God sent to the Achi community, Enugu and Nigeria at large. They lauded his new scholarship scheme for their children and prayed him to fulfill his new promise of sinking a borehole at various places in the community.
The Chairperson, THEE Initiative Management Committee, Mrs Ifeoma Anyalebechi regretted that Achi widows has no widows Welfare Association but expressed optimism that by next year; the women will through THEE initiative organize themselves for proper attention and care.
"To God be the glory that today we are presenting another gift of charity comprising of rice, tomatoes and wrappers to widows, indigent, Umungbu and Gbalagu families’’.
Mrs Anyalebechi further informed that the foundation which is a non profit and non governmental aside the nursing mothers and widows fete during the Christmas had empowered financially through non interest loans over 1000 short listed beneficiaries in Enugu Akwu Achi comprising of widows, indigents, Umungbu families and Gbalagu families in Amaetiti during this programme and programmes in the past.
She further told News express that, ’’ the Chairman/ Founder of the THEEE INITIATIVE, Mr Victor Obi-Anadiume, Omeluora 1 of Achi and wife Lady U do this every quarter of the year. They do more than this at Christmas and New Year as largess to his people. They are exemplary in Achi and have sowed seeds in empowering people from Achi and beyond.‘’

Lat time a family that delivered with medical challenges was sponsored to India for surgical operation which was successful. I can tell you that adding up everything that our Chairman and wife have spent over N50 million on charity in our communities’’.
- THEEE Initiative has economically empowered over 5,000 widows, orphans, less privileged and indigents in villages because some of our beneficiaries were given outright grants of millions of naira, equipment, revolving loans and food, clothing and nutritional support to enable them escape from abject poverty and deprivation’’.
In his remarks, the Manager NAICOM Insurance Awka Branch/Guest at the Charity presentation by THEEE INITIATIVE, Mr Mike Osuji blessed God for the wonderful reach out to the concerned in the society by the Initiative but encouraged them to partner international organizations and other NGO’s to enable them perform more as their programmes and activities were unique and wonderful for the empowerment of the common people. He described Mrs Anyalebechi, the chairperson of the NGO as a superlative organizer.
