How to Clean the Dust and Blockage of Car Exhaust at Home?

  • First of all you need to have gloves that will protect you from all types of harsh chemicals.
  • After that you need to have a bucket full of water and soap. Also soak some old clothes in it.
  • Next, you need to have a degreaser to clean the exhaust system.
  • Next, you need to have a metal polish.
  • Other than that, you also need to have steel wool of #0000 grade. Which you can get from any good DIY shop.
  • Next, you need to have a microfiber cloth.
  • And lastly you want to have a round brush with hard bristle to clean the inner side of the exhaust pipe.
  1. Mix soap and water to clean the exhaust: The first thing that you should do is to clean the Car Exhaust Systems by using soap water. It will help you to make the corroded exhaust pipe look new again. After cleaning it, now you have to wash it and wipe it with the cloth. Other than that, you can also use the brush to clean it more accurately.
  1. Prefer to apply some of the degreaser: The next thing that you should prefer to do is to degrease the exhaust system from inside and outside. For this you should prefer to use a dry old cloth. The degreaser will work efficiently to loosen the carbon deposits and rust materials that are caked on it.
  1. Remove the degreaser from exhaust: Next, you should prefer to remove the degreaser from the surface of the exhaust system. Keep in mind that you have to leave it on the exhaust system for almost 5 to 10 minutes. Then just rinse it off, this procedure will help you to remove all the tarnish, small flakes of rust and carbon build-up.
  1. Prefer to apply the polish on exhaust: Now after that you have to apply the polish on the surface of the exhaust system. You have to wipe it throughout the surface of exhaust by using a micro-fiber cloth. That will help you to remove all types of dust, dirt, moisture and grim from inner side and outer side of the steel wool.
  1. Now you have to remove the polish: And the last step that you have to do is to remove the polish after leaving it on the surface of exhaust for 5 to 10 minutes. This will help you to make the outer and inner surface of the exhaust system to shine in a very attractive and appealing way. Other than that it will also help you to free up all the blockages and look just like the new one. Basically, it is an easy process that will make your exhaust system just like new one and increase its performance.
