Irrespective of the religion that you choose to follow, religious scriptures and holy books form an integral part of our lives. These are very central to our daily habits and lifestyle. Also if you are a religious person, they form the guiding principles of the conducts of our lives. Here we shall explore the productivity and relevance of these texts in the contemporary world of ours and how they subtly play key roles in determining how our society shall work. Firstly, they are an ideal source of wisdom. This is an unchallenged establishment. They are a reservoir of knowledge and life-based lessons. Also, the benefits are not just limited to that. These scriptures have got other significant purposes and use, as they cover a wide array of topics on economics, history, political philosophy, social science, lifestyle, human relationship, etc. Since they are a reservoir of wisdom, children should be encouraged to read these scriptures, thoroughly. Reading them will make the children wiser and apt in dealing with day-to-day conflicts of life resolutely. They also bring in positivity and goodness. A lot of these scriptures will contain knowledge on good and evil, and will also shed light upon ways in which they are to be dealt with. Moreover these texts are important sources of productive knowledge. They are potent mediums of inducing creative artistry in the children and also love for art and culture. They can potentially make people positive, healthy and sound.

There is a heightened sense of respect for life and you start valuing what you have in life. You start being happy, and always content at heart. This becomes particularly important in the face of the poisonously rising materialism of the contemporary capitalist world. Although the modern society is pre-dominantly materialistic in nature, it is necessary for us to understand that materialism can lead to insecurity, unhealthy obsession with material products, unhappiness, failure, despair and dejection. The problem with such unchecked materialism is that you are never content. This means that you are always hungry for more. The desire to achieve for becomes insatiable thirst. And when we are incapable of achieving such material goals, we tend to experience despair, dejection, loneliness, failure and more commonly hollowness. This is happens because you have shifted your core belief from spirituality to materiality.

Dealing with failures:- It is also not polemical to assume that in life, we do face failures. And when we do, we need something to hold us down-and idea that something beyond the material realm of human beings can guide us through our ordeal. Now in the absence of that sense of something guiding us; that some sort of safety net, we tend to break down. We lose hope. This is not only unhealthy but dangerous. However, in the presence of spirituality and in the belief of a higher power, one does not lose hope even in the face of ordeal and hardship. One is able to stay formidable and consistent in his path. One does not give up.
