Nepal is a small Asian landlocked country surrounded by China and India. It is the richest country in the world for its unique bio-diversity. Being home to the world’s highest mountains and historical cities, Nepal is in the bucket list of many travelers all around the world. Its variety of landscapes, cultures and people, offer a wide variety of activities for travelers to get engaged in.

Nepal is rich in both natural and cultural aspects. Tallest mountains, green hills, beautiful rivers and lakes, lush green forests, beautiful cities and villages, cultural and religious places and many more makes this country an exotic place to visit.

Nepal is known for very little things. You might or might not have heard about Nepal since it is a small country. But, you surely have heard about Mt. Everest which is the tallest mountain of the world. Also known as Sagarmatha by the natives, the mountain which lies at 8,848 meters above the sea level is located in the Himalayan ranges of Nepal.

There are various reason that makes Nepal different than any other countries in the world. It is not just about Mt. Everest only. Here are some of the unique fasts that will probably blow your mind.

Home of the tallest mountains in the world

Nepal is not just the home of Mt. Everest. Eight mountains from the top ten tallest mountains that is above 8000 m are located in this country. There are 1,310 peaks above 6000 meters of which 238 are already opened for climbing. Most of the Himalayan mountain rage is in Nepal and it contain some of the world’s tallest mountain.

Nepal has always been the best Himalayan trekking spot due to this reason. People from various part of Nepal come here to climb those tallest mountain. Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek are some of the best treks of Nepal.

Lumbini: Birth Place of Buddha

Buddhism is one of the most followed religions of the world. Being its founder, Lord Gautama Buddha was said to be born in a place of Nepal called Lumbini. This place is now considered as one of the most sacred places of pilgrimage for Buddhists all over the world. If you want to know more about Buddhism, come visit Nepal and see it for yourself.

Buddhist people from all around the world consider Lumbini as the most sacred place on Earth. They travel here to see the glimpse of the birth place of Lord Gautama Buddha.

Living Goddess: Kumari

A living goddess? Yes, not just one, there are multiple Kumaris throughout Nepal. Relax, Kumari literally means virgin in Nepali. It is a tradition of worshiping young pre-pubescent girls as manifestations of the divine female energy or Devi (goddess).
