At present, there are many chemical industries which manufacture a variety of chemical products. These chemical industries require a variety of storage tanks and machinery for different requirements. Like they need the chemical storage tanks for process plant machinery. They also require the storage tanks for mixing the chemicals. Other than these things, the chemical storage tanks are also required for moving or transporting the chemicals from one place to another.

There is not just one but there are many types of chemicals used in the chemical industries, which are kept at different temperatures. Safety of these chemicals is very important. Some of the chemicals are in the form of liquid and they can be stored in liquid storage tanks also. Whereas, the other chemicals like petroleum products or liquified petroleum gases may need a different type of chemical storage tanks which can maintain the state of the chemicals. Many people prefer to buy the ibc stainless steel containers for storing chemicals in it. As they are said to be good storage tanks for the chemical storage. While buying the chemical storage tanks for use, one should keep a few things in mind. Like, one should know which type of chemical they will store in the storage tank, they should know the temperature at which the chemical need to be stored, the type of chemical storage tank which is suitable for that particular chemicals, and many other things. This will help in deciding and buying the right chemical storage tank. Let’s know about some of the chemical storage tanks which are used in different industries.

  1. Glass Reinforced Plastic Storage Tanks – These are the types of chemical storage tanks which are generally used for the storage of petroleum products. This type of chemical storage is made specifically for some selected chemicals. They are not being used for all type of chemicals as they are not suitable for every chemical. One cannot store the corrosive chemicals in these storage tanks. There are some benefits of glass-reinforced plastic storage tanks but there are some disadvantages also. Like if the fiberglass chemical storage tank gets damaged, it cannot be repaired easily.
  2. Mobile Chemical Storage Tanks – Be it the raw chemical materials or be it a finished chemical product, one often needs to transfer them from one place to another. During that time, most of the chemical industries make use of mobile tanks. These tanks can help in transferring the chemicals or chemical products. They are not the usual mobile storage tanks, but these are made especially for transferring the chemicals. And that is why they are made strong with the dual wall so that the chemical does not flow out of the storage tank.
  3. Polyethylene Chemical Storage Tanks – This storage tank is made for the storage of a variety of chemicals. They are available in different shapes and different storage capacity. These tanks can be modified easily and are said to be one of the flexible storage tank options. Many chemical industries use these tanks. However, they are not good enough for the storage of petroleum chemicals or other such related chemicals. As these storage tanks are made from Polyethylene, so it reacts with the petroleum and damages both the chemical and the storage tank.
