Not everything that is traditionally said about dogs is true. Today I am going to tell you myths about dogs it is better to forget.

  • 10 Dry nose means disease
How many of us if we see our pet decayed and without hunger, we look at the snout to see if it is wet or dry? Surely you say "I do it". Well, dear friend, let me tell you that the popular belief that when your dog's nose is dry has a fever, it is a lie.

The truth is that moisture from the nose is not a good indicator of disease in a dog. In fact, your dog can have a dry nose and yet be healthy or wet and sick. If you have doubts that your dog may be sick, better take it to the vet.

  • 9 When they lick a wound they heal
Maybe someone told you "this wound is healed by my dog??with his licks" while pointing to a mark on his skin. And you thought: "if he says so, it must be true." But surely other factors intervened such as applying some ointment. In fact, it happens to the dogs themselves.

Some licking is good for cleaning a wound, but many times dogs lick their wounds excessively, which makes them take longer to heal. There are many cases in which the wound is made worse by so much lick.

  • 8 They eat grass when they are sick
There are dogs that eat grass or grass every day, and that does not mean that every day they are sick or feel bad, don't you think? Dogs actually eat grass for several reasons, and one of the main ones is because it is part of their diet.
  • 7 Bitches must have a litter before being sterilized
Bitches do not need to have puppies before being sterilized. It does not improve their health and they will not feel "realized as mothers even once". What is certain is that sterilizing them as soon as possible prevents serious problems.
  • 6 Mixed breed dogs are healthier than purebred dogs
This is a mistake, because nothing indicates which animal can be healthier than another. Do you not know any common dog that lives longer or enjoys better health than a dog breed?

What is certain is that certain breeds are more vulnerable to some genetic diseases, which does not mean that a mixed breed dog does not get sick at all.

  • 5 Some dogs have jaw locks when they bite
I've heard it from pit bulls and dobermans, which is crazy. Any dog??that bites can reopen the jaw.

What happens with these dog breeds is that, as they are associated with an aggressive or temperamental character, it is easily believed - and erroneously - that everything that has to do with the bite is true. And by the way, a dog will be aggressive in large part because of the upbringing given by its owner.

  • 4 Dogs only see black and white
Do not feel sorry for your pet to think that a world of colors is lost. While it is something we can all say, it is not true. It is a popular belief that is deeply rooted, but the truth is that dogs can see colors, but not as we do.

Dogs can distinguish totally different colors such as blue and yellow, but not similar to red and pink.

  • 3 Garlic prevents fleas
Estemito is false, not only because garlic does not completely prevent fleas, but also because it can be very harmful to your dog. So, dear friend, it is better that you take your pet to the veterinarian to apply a flea ; Garlic cloves save them to cook something delicious to eat.
  • 2 The dog's mouth is cleaner than the human's
That's what people who love to kiss and lick their dog say. The truth is that the mouth of your beloved animal may be full of bacteria, as much or more than yours!

Also, what is nice about your dog licking your face knowing that it uses its tongue to wash certain "intimate parts" of its body?

  • 1 For each year of human, 7 dogs are counted
It is true that dogs become adults and age faster than humans, but it is a very difficult calculation to handle. Not all dogs develop the same or live the same number of years, just like humans. It is best to accept that we are different and stop calculating so much.

How many things are said about dogs that are not true! Do you know of any other myth? Tell me on comment!
