After 2018 released Black Panther did such a fantastic business on the box-office, it was inevitable that it would get a sequel. Kevin Fiege, the Marvel Studios president, said back in June 2019 that the talk of the sequel as of that moment would be premature. He went on to explain that Ryan Coogler, who directed and co-wrote the first part, was merely starting to write the movie. Some rumors were surrounding Erik Killmonger’s return in the plot, despite what happened to him in the first movie. Him making a return would take tremendous efforts regarding how he ended up in the first part. Ryan is reasonably tight-lipped regarding any information for the film. The Cast Details It is safe to assume that the original cast will mostly return in their respective roles. That would include Martin Freeman in the role of a CIA agent named Everett Ross. Recently Everett reported that as far as his knowledge goes, he will be returning in the movie. As to when that might be, it is still unknown to him. Danai Gurira also confirmed her return as Okoye at the 2019 Comic-Con. Okoye is the leader of Dora Milaje, the all-female forces of Wakanda. Gurira did not spill any beans regarding the movie saying that Coogler has instructed them about it. They are supposed to say that everyone is working hard, and that is all they can tell. There is a rumor about Namor the Sub-Mariner appearing as the villain for the new flick, and he will be trying to win over Wakanda. In the previously released movie Avengers Endgame, Okoye reports that there have been earthquakes around the coast of Wakanda. It can directly tie-up with the rumor as Namor is a mutant who resides underwater. He is half-human and half-Atlantean like DC’s Aquaman. The Release Date After Feige confirmed the idea of a sequel to the Black Panther, he did not provide any specifics regarding the dates. But you can guess the time by looking at Marvel’s upcoming film. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has faced a setback after the Marvel/Disney drama going on with James Gunn. Marvel would be aiming to release the movie while the hero is still hot, but 2021 is the earliest release Black Panther 2 can get. The Returns There is not much information provided regarding the casting, but the original cast will surely return. The cast went like: 1. Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther 2. Letitia Wright as Shuri 3. Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia 4. Danai Gurira as Okoye 5. Martin Freeman is CIA agent Everett K. Ross 6. Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi 7. Winston Duke as M’Baku 8. Angela Bassett as Ramonda, mother of Black Panther Ryan Coogler is set to return as the director of the movie, which was not surprising at all. Also, there are talks regarding more than one sequel to the film, but nothing can be said about that.
