Nice, good quality light good for power outages. Nice and bright. Lens diffuses light nicely. Takes 3 D size batteries. Three light settings. The first is low (half power) will last continuously for 6 days. The second setting is high and will last for 3 days of continuous light. The blinking setting will last for a continuous 10 days. The third is a strobe setting blinking for safety. It has a green LED on the front that blinks every few seconds letting you know the batteries are still good. Has a handle good for hanging from a hook or something, also has hook on the bottom. Made in China.

I ordered three of these lights and two had the problem with blinking lights and one did not. I contacted customer support and you can see by their response the new product does not blink when turned off.

  • I got this to use as the main light in my house when there is power failure. I have several other lights that are meant to serve as back-up/emergency lights, and these are smaller and put at strategic places in my house. Living alone in the mountains makes preparedness absolutely necessary.

At 1000 lumens, the brightness of this light is more than sufficient for the normal activities that I execute while inside my house. Changing the batteries and reinstalling the housing are also not a pain as compared to doing the same with a competitor's I purchased a while back.

Let us be aware that the phrase 'water-resistant' does not mean 'waterproof'. It would have been of more help if the manufacturer had provided the IP rating of this light. Nevertheless, that is not a big deal for me, as I do not intend to use this light in the rain.

I would recommend this light, although I, of course, cannot comment on the strength of its water resistance.
