According to the third annual survey, Delta, Alaska and Southwest Airlines rule the American skies, while small budget carriers like Frontier, Spirit and Allegiant needs some serious improvement.

When it comes to US based carriers, Delta Airlines has earned a positive name, according to this survey. The very famous Airline Quality Rating (AQR), has gifted Delta, the title of the top airline in the US for providing quality service to its passengers. The report came from Wichita State University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is in its 29th year and the data used in the report was collected from 2018 data from the US Transportation Department.

According to the reports, all the US airlines are making an improvement when it comes to services like how they treat baggage, handle the number of complaints they receive and manage overcrowded flights. A deterioration is noticed only in the proper arrival of flights on time. There is an increase in the number of flights that are arriving late, due to any technical faults in the computer or bad weather.

Delta was reported to be the only carrier that has improved in all four categories and has, as a result, moved from the second place to first. On the other hand, Alaska Airlines has fallen all the way from first to fourth. Among all the airlines, Southwest had the lowest number of customer complaints, which was nothing unusual whereas Frontier had the maximum number of complaints.

Southwest airlines mainly suffered because of its relatively minimalist cabin features, and very few on-time arrivals and cancellations, but Southwest clearly emerged as the winner when it came to ancillary fees. The airlines also has a number of loyal followers that gave it a way higher rating than anyone else due to great customer-satisfaction.

The report has also named Frontier Airlines as the worst airline on the list with a minimum score. Frontier is said to have canceled the maximum number of flights and have denied the largest number of boarding. Additionally, the airline has the highest number of aviation incidents and accidents per total number of flight operations.

Chicago-based United Airlines was given the sixth position for reasons as timeliness but excelled in its array of lounges and believe it or not, in keeping down its number of involuntary bumps last year.

Among other airlines,JetBlue was voted as the most comfortable airline due to its facilities that it provides to its passengers, like free Wi-Fi, extra legroom and complimentary snacks and beverages. Spirit Airlines was named as the least comfortable.The cheapest airline was Frontier Airlines, though in this case, it was not an achievement as it has been ranked as the worst overall.
