The reception area of your office is where an outsider first comes in and enquires about. So that reception area has to be perfect in every way so that the visitors coming in get the perfect first impression. And that is mainly done with the help of the décor and the ambience of the room. And the perfect ambience and a good interior can only be achieved if the furniture and other accessories are coordinated and the visitors feel comfortable. Moreover, it also creates an impression on the mind of the people visiting the office about what kind of work culture the place has. Bright furniture can denote a casual atmosphere where people work more freely, whereas austere furniture denotes that the office has an extremely formal work culture.

For this reason, it is essential to pay special attention to reception room interior design:

  1. Give the Reception Area a Classy Look: The furniture may be affordable for the buyers, but it should not look cheap. Very flimsy plastic furniture gives the impression of superficiality and it denotes that the company might not be so well off. The people coming in should look up to the place they are coming in. Good reception furniture should create that atmosphere. So if you want your furniture to be affordable, then instead of going for the plastic varieties which are too conspicuous, go for the plastic furniture which has a wooden finish or a metal finish. That is, they are bit heavier, and have a finish which does not make them look cheap. They are also cushioned and can be great for light seating arrangements.
  2. Sofas and Wardrobes: For an office space and the reception area, it is best to use a formal sofa set, preferably of leather. Leather sofa sets in basic black or brown, can fit in anywhere and the latest designs are also very sleek and stylish. If your budget is higher, you can go for more formal sets with steel rims, which have a very corporate edge. If the reception area is small, you can also create an impression of space with the use of mirrors. If you have to use any wardrobes to keep the office files, they should be in a corner, and although coordinated, should not attract much attention. If the reception area is small, then you can order low wardrobes which can double up as table tops.
  3. Lighting and Comfort: The lighting of the reception area should be ideal to set the mood. It should be bright, but not too stark so as to make anyone flinch, nor should it look clinical. A magazine stand, a coffee machine- if possible, a clock, and a table stand for brochures and important papers- all of these should be included in the reception area to make the overall ambience comfortable and functional at the same time. One can play around with the wall paint to create a light atmosphere, until one steps into the formal interiors of the office.

With a little careful planning and a little bit of imagination, you can create an impressive reception area for yourself. You can also hire professional interior design companies to do it for you. After all, you should prepare your visitor for what they should be expecting inside.
