Have you decided to move to Pennsylvania? If you have, well, those are great news! Moving to Pennsylvania or PA, as the locals say, comes with a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Well, whether something is an advantage or disadvantage, depends on your preferences and your needs of course. But, one thing is for sure, Pennsylvania has an astonishingly rich history, mesmerizing landscapes, all four seasons, and lots and lots of chocolate. However, the reason why so many people move to PA each year is the thriving job market, affordable living, and good education. So, if you plan on moving here soon, keep on reading to find out what are some of the most important tips for future Pennsylvanians.

Pennsylvania is a National Treasure

Let us begin by saying that PA is a land of 'firsts'. The first, piano, the first computer, the first daily newspaper, the first American flag, the first radio broadcast... and so on. The list of American 'firsts' is neverending. And because of that PA has an amazing history. Almost wherever you look, you will see a museum, a monument, or something similar. Philadelphia is the one that is packed with national treasures the most. There you can the beloved Liberty Bell. Then, next to it you have Independence Hall, a place where both constitutions were written. So, yes, Pennsylvania is very important for American history!

First-Rate Job Market

As previously mentioned, the job market in Pennsylvania is thriving. We will just say that this State is home to 21 Fortune 500 companies. So, whatever your job preference is, you will certainly find something for yourself here. However, before you decide to settle down in The Keystone State, make sure to do your research. This is especially important if you do not have a job waiting for you when you arrive. So, prepare your resume and recommendation letters and send them out to your potential employers, just in case.

Outstanding Education

If you plan on moving to Pennsylvania with your children, you will be glad to hear that this state offers an outstanding education. And that applies to both public and private schools. There is plenty to choose from when it comes to elementary, high schools and colleges. So, again, before you hire international relocation services, make sure to do some researching and see which school will suit your child's needs the most. You can also schedule a visit to a preferred school and talk about the system and almost anything with teachers and the principal. But, whichever school you choose for your child, you will not make a mistake.

Living in PA is More Than Affordable

This may come as a surprise, but living in PA is doable even for those who are on a tight budget. Yes, almost everything here is cheaper when compared to other states in the USA. Paying the bills, buying groceries and having fun will not break the bank. A medium household income is around $46,902, which is considered amazing. And when it comes to renting or buying a home, you will not have to worry either. Renting a house or an apartment is approximately 50% lower when compared to New York, its closest neighbor. And buying a house is even better, as you will spend 70% less than you would in other places.

Be Prepared For All Four Seasons

Before you start googling how to properly pack your clothes when you are house moving, better start with googling the weather conditions in your chosen city in Pennsylvania. Believe it or not, but Pennsylvania has all four seasons, which can sometimes occur in a single day. So, when packing your clothes, do not hesitate to bring both your flipflops and your winter jumpsuit. Trust us, you will need it. However, this does not mean that you can not enjoy each season. You will see that winters become almost magical when every inch of the state is covered in snow and Christmas lights. In spring you will see how everything becomes alive and how people's mindsets start to change. Summers are hot and perfect for going to the beach. And autumns are just mesmerizing and ideal for apple picking and watching the leaves turn.

It is Quite Easy to Make Friends Here

Unlike its neighbor - the New York City, which is known for being reserved and sometimes unfriendly, Pennsylvanians are quite the opposite. The minute you arrive, you will see that making friends is going to be a piece of cake. You will certainly never feel lonely here as people here are really friendly and welcoming. You will always have a friend to drink coffee with, to go jogging with and all sorts of things. And, it does not matter whether you live in a house or an apartment, you must learn how to host a barbecue both inside and outside. This is something your PA friends will expect from you.

Traffic Can Be Terrible

Well, maybe one of Pennsylvania's biggest cons is its traffic system. This applies to both using public transportation and driving your own car. First, public transportation is developed, but not always punctual and it will not take you wherever you desire. And, if you decide to drive your own car, well, make GPS your new best friends - trust us, you will need it. Also, if you live in bigger cities, be prepared for a lot of traffic jams. However, the thing that irritates most of locals and tourists as well, are those potholes. So, another thing to be prepared for is a lot of bumps on the road and annoyed drivers driving over them.
