Creating an era of green development

Human beings are the products and the shapers of the environment. The environment can satisfy the material needs of human and provide them the opportunity to grow with wisdom, morality, society and spirit. Due to the rapid advancement of science and technology, human beings have the ability to change the environment.

The United Nations is aware that protecting and improving the human environment is related to the well-being and economic development of people around the world. The United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was held in Stockholm from June 5 to 1active6, 1972 adopted the proposal of making June 5th as World Environment Day every year, which became the main force of the United Nations to encourage global residents to raise environmental awareness and take environmental protection actions. Today, World Environment Day has become an important platform for human beings to take active environmental protection actions.

World Environment Day propagandizes a theme every year, focusing on extremely urgent environmental issues. The theme of 2019 is "air pollution", which aims to call on people to act and fight the global crisis of air pollution.

Green hills have become scarce

For thousands of years, driven by the pressure of survival, we have been waging war against the natural environment, deforestation, reclaim land from a lake, and marine reclamation land, creating more current living conditions, but bringing the loss of biodiversity such as the elephant retreat; fossil fuels are widely used, waste gas, waste residue, and wastewater are improperly disposed or even discharged randomly. Human beings have suffered enormous damage to the ecological environment while harvesting the achievements of the industrial revolution. With the continuous improvement of the material level, people will put forward higher requirements for the ecological environment in which they live. However, the smoggy air can be seen everywhere at certain times, soil and water pollution incidents are frequently reported. In the self-media era, Facebook, Twitter, and WeChat are widely used, which has made many people deeply realized that the green mountains and clear waters seem to be getting farther and farther away from us.

Innovative technology to achieve a green economy

In 1962, American Carson published "Silent Spring", reflecting on the environmental damage caused by traditional industrial civilization, and arousing the attention of all walks of life on environmental protection. In 1972, the Club of Rome published "The Limits of Growth", which raised serious questions about the sustainability of the high-consumption, high-pollution growth model in Western industrialized countries.

In the past two years, under the dual pressure of economic recovery and climate change, the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea have put forward green development strategies and implemented a "green new policy." The green economy has developed rapidly, representing a new trend in international economic development. China is also making development strategy choices, especially in manufacturing. Only by promoting green technology innovation, vigorously developing green technology, improving the utilization rate of resources, and reducing the waste emissions, can we effectively achieve green development.

Green development is for everyone

Protecting the ecological environment means protecting productivity, improving the ecological environment means developing productivity. Letting environmental protection and economic development go together, president Xi Jinping calls for protecting the ecological environment like protecting the eyes and treating it like treating life. Protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility, green development is for everyone.

We should make our lifestyle greener. From buying energy-saving and new energy vehicles, energy-efficient appliances, and water-saving appliances to reducing the use of disposable items such as plastic shopping bags and lunch boxes, and even turn off the lights and tighten the faucets. We are all practicing green lifestyles and consumption concept, all of them are contributing to green development.
