Without Google Play Services, the Mate 30 Series' user experience will prove lacking for most users outside China. Here's how to install both Play Services and the Play Store onto these devices or to Download Paid apps for free you can use free Google play gift card.

Despite Huawei continuing to cross its fingers and find some way, shape or form of workaround for the ongoing ban placed upon it by the US government, the company still went ahead and unveiled two truly new smartphones to the world in September: the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.

As much as it was clear at the phones’ launch that the company wished its ordeal would have concluded by now, it simply wasn’t to be. As such, both new Mate Series devices boast superb hardware and the latest build of Huawei’s own EMUI 10 (atop Android 10) but no mention was made of Google Play Services - a near-essential part of the user experience on any Android phone released outside of China.

While Google Play Services’ absence may be the biggest roadblock to both the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro’s success on store shelves but not all is lost.

If you’re comfortable putting your faith in a service from a seemingly unknown source, there is a simple way to add Google Play Services to the Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and any other Huawei handset lacking them, running EMUI 9.1.1 or newer.

The solution listed here, which has been referenced on multiple resources, including the r/Huawei and r/Honor subreddits, as well as the Club Huawei Chinese forums, was originally tested on a Chinese Honor 9X, but can potentially work on any other compatible Huawei or Honor phone without Google Play Services pre-installed.

Note: Our successful attempt was achieved using a pre-launch Chinese Huawei Mate 30 Pro - the bootloader was/is locked.

Step 1

Head to www.lzplay.net on your device’s web browser (make sure download permissions are enabled).

Step 2

Tap ‘Download Google Service Assistant’ to install Google Framework services on your device.

Step 3

Your phone will download an.APK file. Head to the Files app, then navigate to Internal Storage> Download> Browser and tap on the file named ‘app-release.apk’.

Step 4

If you haven’t yet allowed Files the necessary permissions to install apps, do so on the screen that pops up by tapping ‘allow’.

Step 5

Tap ‘install’ and, on the following screen, flip the storage permissions toggle on and tap ‘open’.

Step 6

Tap ‘start’ at the bottom of the screen, tap ‘activate’ on the subsequent screen, followed by ‘start download’ to install the Google Services Framework and the Google Play Store onto your device.

Step 7

Once the download is complete, tap the button at the bottom to 'register your device with Google'. You'll then be asked to sign in to Google Play Services using your standard Google account credentials.

Step 8

Open the newly-installed Google Play store app and sign in again using your Google account credentials

Step 9

Restart your device - press and hold the power button and tap 'restart'.

Step 10

Head back into the Play Store app and set about downloading all of the apps and services you want - from Gmail and Maps, to Twitter, TikTok and WhatsApp.

Note:- This method is not officially sanctioned by either Google or Huawei and you perform it at your own risk.

The process detailed above worked at the time of writing but through incompatible software updates or by way of a conscious decision to block said method by Google, Huawei or the provider of the Google Framework.APK itself, it is possible that it might not work in future.
