Latex mattresses are often a good choice for people who are allergic to wool. When it comes to latex mattresses, you can choose between organic (Natural) or Synthetic latex.

Online retailers of organic mattresses often market their products as either natural or organic—but are they really? And is there a difference between organic latex and Synthetic latex? If you are confused and would like to know more, then read this short guide.

Real Latex Mattresses

Natural latex is derived from rubber trees. To harvest Natural latex, the sap (milk) is tapped from the tree, which needs to be within 10 degrees of the earth's equator. The sap is then whipped and transformed into latex foam. This is a sustainable way to obtain natural latex because the sap can last for up to 180 days in the tree per year, and the tree easily heals in an hour.

Synthetic Latex is different from natural latex. These snythetic products are far from being all-natural. Snythetic rubber mattresses are actually made of a blend of synthetic latex and natural rubber. Synthetic latex is styrene-butadiene rubber, which is known to emit cause allergic reactions from its harmful fumes. Some manufacturers claim that they use organic latex mattresses, which is misleading, but their products are actually made with chemicals like toluene that can causes memory loss and muscle weakness, plus added vanillin to disquise the smell, which is derived from petroleum.

What is Natural Latex?

Natural latex comes from a rubber tree, and natural latex mostly does not. You can ensure that the latex is sourced from the best trees and that the latex meets acceptable and industry-standard organic practices, by going with natural latex and staying far away from synthetic latex blends.

Organic is Better

The original natural latex mattresses are better for your health. They are considered environmentally friendly, too. Look for mattress stores that source their natural latex from Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Natural rubber from those countries are considered superior to the rubber from other rubber trees, coming from other countries. Rubber tapping itself is environmentally friendly and produces biodegradable mattresses.

Natural latex is more elastic and breathable. Its elasticity does not act like a memory foam mattress). Memory foam mattresses melt into the body by body temperature. Where Natural latex is a fast recovery product. Natural latex makes the mattress durable and long lasting. Latex mattresses are then covered with both 100% cotton on the outside and wool as the inner barrier The center cores will be Natural latex. This is the ultimate system..
