Immigration authorities in Canada have issued 71,000 Invitations to Apply for candidates having a profile in the Express Entry system in the current year. The total cumulative no of invitations issued in 2019 has crossed 70,000 with the latest draw that was held on the 30th of Oct. The draw saw the government issuing invitations to apply to nearly 4000 candidates who are planning for immigration to Canada. The latest draw saw a large number of people being selected in spite of an increase in the minimum of CRS score. The comprehensive ranking score for the 30th Oct draw was set at 475, which was 11 points higher than the draw conducted previously. As there was a four week gap between the latest draw and this draw, the CRS score could likely have gone up.

Canada Express Entry - IRCC on the Brink of Reaching Target

The Federal Skilled Trades draw which was held on October 16, was specific to the program, resulted in profiles with lower scores being selected from the Express Entry pool. The rest of the profiles which remaining in the profile were having higher scores, and that’s the reason why the minimum score was higher. Therefore, it does not seem necessary that the higher minimum CRS score would become the norm for upcoming Canada Express Entry draw.

The 71,000 immigrants invited by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is a step ahead towards the immigration authority’s target of admitting 81,400 high skilled immigrants to Canada. The latest draw picked candidates who had submitted their profile by the 29th of August this year by 3.50 am Universal time. This round of Canada Express Entry draw, was the 22nd one for the current year and the 129th since the start of the Express Entry system.

Canada Express Entry to See 30 More Draws in Current Year

Immigration hopefuls, can expect to see around 30 more draws in the current year, and can expect more than 80,000 invitations to be applied issued to candidates. Stakeholders expect that maximum of the draws will be have a low minimum score, which would allow the Canadian government to meet their annual immigration targets, for the current year. In the previous year the immigration authority, IRCC broke its own record by issuing more than 89,800 Invitations to Apply. However, looking at past trends the most successful period for the first half of the year came for the year 2017 in which more than 54,500 ITAs were issued to candidates hoping to settle permanently in the country. As there are thirty more draws remaining for the year 2019 it can easily be predicted that not only will the immigration target set by the IRCC will be met, but also many records will be broken for Canada immigration this year as well. This clearly indicates, that Canada remains as one of the most popular destination for immigrants from all over the world on account of its infrastructure, public health policy, quality education and better quality of life as well as political stability and opportunities for economic advancement.
