  • Now link your computer – laptop or PC to the extender through a WiFi or Wired connection.

  • For WiFi connection, turn on the Wi-Fi manger and search for the available wireless networks.

  • Tap on the extender network's SSID. Mostly it is of the form - NETGEAR_EXT.

  • Once your computer is connected with the extender's network, the client LED on the extender will glow white.

  • For the wired connection, use an Ethernet cable to connect the Ethernet port of the extender to the Ethernet port of the computer

  • This web address will take you to the Netgear installation assistant.

  • Further, execute the on-screen prompts to connect the extender to the existing network.

  • Use the Link status LED to place your extender in the most suitable spot, that is exactly in the midway of the distance between router and the area with least Wi-Fi connectivity.

  • In case the Link status LED denotes a poor connection, move the extender near to the router.

  • Once you get to the appropriate spot, you're all set to connect the client device to the extended network and start surfing.

    Tip: You can also use netgear extender setup for the choosing the adequate location of the extender.

    Connecting Using WPS

  • For WPS setup, first place the extender as much as near to the router.
