In this topic, I will tell you my love for the wellness industry with my business-savvy-side and now successfully running my day spa in Mumbai for five years and counting. I always stay competitive and now I will tell you about my journey.

Born into an eminent family of hoteliers, hotels were in my blood and my formative years spent with the Oberoi hotel where I learned the luxury and an unyielding commitment to detail. The world was a different place back then. As time proceeds, the Indian economy opened up to the world and competition started to grow so my stress levels began to rise dramatically and I started to lose sight of life's balance. I felt this is my life and the lives of those around me. This led me to discover the purpose of a different kind of hotel, one which could provide an escape from life to assist people on a journey of well-being. That is when the seed of my journey was planted.

I traveled all the states of India searching for the location that would embody my soul, a location that would bring me to life. I finally found my first job through Izydaisy and worked as a Nail Technician in The Palms Spa and then I decided to get my associates in business at the local community college. After graduation, I was working seven days a week and was not making enough money so I decided to go in the nail business and I think I made more my first day at the nail salon than I had made in an entire week as an assistant.

Then I have decided to open my spa in Mumbai as I started receiving clients so I love the area. When we first moved to Mumbai, I was working in retail where my younger sister worked. One of my colleagues knew that I had been a nail technician prior and mentioned that they were looking for a nail technician. Within six months, the owner saw my work and made me a partner. I then realized I could never work for anyone else. I played the role of a nail technician, subcontractor and then the spa I was working at was looking to sell.

The previous owner was the best manager but the new owner has different demand and was driving around and I found the space that we are at now. I started with a staff just me and now I have ten girls under me.

For attracting new clients, I hired a local business to manage my software, they take care of my website and keep everything up-to-date. I then post my services along with website link on spa in Mumbai portal to engage with local as well as countrywide customers. If any existing customer refers someone new they get a 20% discount off their next purchase.

We also supposed to give loyalty cards and little key tags to keep a track record of dollars spent and visits. On our website, we offer a special discount so the most successful promotion we do targeting locals and countrywide people on spa in Mumbai portal so it is like an appetizer for everything we do here.

And yes, I always maintain a balance between my personal life and professional life. Whether it's a day trip or what have you make the most of it. My husband also very supportive so we just keep growing and moving.
