Emojis are, a trendy and prominent way of communication. The communication power of emoji is so highly defined that a single emoji can worth all your words. Our brain reacts more when emojis are present in the content. More than 25% of the millennials use emojis many times a day.

Marketers had also started adapting emojis trends to feature their products and services. The emoji are being used at increasing rates.

Now you must be well aware of the importance of emoji. But here we have a pause because these emojis can have a negative impact too in your marketing strategies. We are having more than 2000+ emojis in our digital world each with a specific purpose. So the use of relevant emojis can only work well with your marketing strategies. Here I am mentioning some tips that may help you while using emojis-

  1. Follow Emojipedia- Every emoji has its own meaning and a place where it is used. Not all emojis have a universal appeal. Try to get the correct meaning of every emoji before using it to represent your product. Imagine a cafeteria owner using an emoji of frog or star instead of some food emoji. Completely irrelevant! It will not interpret any relevant thing, in fact, does the opposite. So be clear with your emojis, don’t confuse your customers and be sure about the meaning before using any.

  1. Know your emoji relevancy with the targeted audience- Emoji’s had been used for every group of people. Let's say you are targeting youngsters. So, you can use more edgy emojis instead of simple ones. That will get more connected and grabs the mass attention of your targeted audience.

  1. Avoid overuse of emojis - Going overboard will not be a good idea. It will only result in confusion and misinterpretation of your marketing content. Go easy with them, use only required emojis with a direct meaning. Use of excessive emojis can ruin your campaign. So be sure about the relevancy, need and place for your emojis.

  1. Use personalized marketing strategies- Add a personal touch in your content with emojis. It will boost your campaign engagement. This personalization will create bonds and long-term relationships with your customers.

  1. Establish an emoji marketing strategy-

  • Develop a marketing strategy related to

  • The frequency of emoji

  • Targeted audience

  • The actual reason for using emoji,

  • The relevancy of emoji with people,

  • Product and place. etc.

  • You can use social media for the trend checking. Plan a complete pack of strategies and then follow them.

  1. Avoid using slang- Use emojis to tell stories, expressions, slang, and other informational content. Avoid using slangs like wow, haha, shy, etc. This kind of content will not grab your viewer’s attraction. Instead, try using some emojis in your content and avoid slangs. So, your content will be more adapted by the viewers.

As there is a saying, in marketing you need to speak in a language, your customer understands. Emoji is the new language of the generation today and if you want to reach out to that generation, you really need a great hold over this.

Here is a quick guide on how you can use emojis in your marketing strategy. Hope you’ll like it.
