OHM Professional School: An Award Winning Education Model

In November 2002, with the support of Bavarian State government, the management institute of the Nuremberg tech was founded with the aim of providing advanced training with the support. Within the Nuremberg Institute of technology, the management institute works independently. It works with a goal to satisfy the constantly growing demand for qualified advanced training programs geared towards international business, and the increasing service-orientation in the field.

Nuremberg Tech: The second-largest university of applied sciences in Bavaria

Nuremberg Tech is the second-largest university of applied sciences in Bavaria. It has a large potential of corporate contacts, partnerships with other universities and research projects. The university consists of twelve departments in four areas of study – technology, economics, social sciences, and design – offer undergraduate and advanced degree programs. Furthermore, it guarantees further education opportunities or dual-study variants. The international nature of the university is shown by a large number of foreign students.

OHM Professional School was established on 7 October 2016. Since then, the former Management Institute and another institute for technical education, the Verbund Ingenieur Qualifizierung gGmbH, have been functioning under one name. Both these institutions carry more than 20 years of experience in extra-occupational continuing education. All previous study and seminar programs of both institutions are now bundled across disciplines under the new umbrella of the OHM Professional School. As a university for working professionals, the OHM Professional School is the main focal point for part-time academic training at the Nuremberg Institute of Technology.

One of the First in Germany

One of the first in Germany, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs of OHM Professional School provides English based program courses. During the studies, the student acquires professional and practical management skills in international business. With years of experience, the school guarantees an excellent qualification in Business Administration.

A Journey of Curious Program Manager

Kerstin Lorentz-Sabisch, Program Manager, MBA General Management of OHM Professional School is the in-charge of English-language study program. Mrs. Kerstin Lorentz Sabisch studied German philology and has been the MBA program manager for many years already. As a sign of curious personality, she uses to ask a lot of questions to all the guests on her vacation. Kerstin first worked with her father who had a medium-sized printing company. She worked for three years, saw the practice of printing, but also made designs. Over time, she realized that she wanted to be more involved with people. Hence, Kerstin started her journey with OHM Professional School.

Ms. Lea Bianca Hummel has a Master degree in business studies and has been the MBA program manager for a year now. Additionally, she is the head of the program "business economics for engineers". Ms. Hummel, herself was a student at the TH Nürnberg. Kerstin supports the thought that as a student studying in a foreign country must learn the language in the host country. Especially students who are perusing their MBA from OHM Professional School learn German. It will help the students to understand the culture better and also get to know more about the country. Kerstin advices students, "Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching." Further, she says, "Bring out the leader in you!"

To provide high-quality practical exercises, we cooperate with companies like Siemens AG, Schwan Stabilo or Fraunhofer IIS.
