Setup your website with on-page optimization
Posted: Dec 26, 2019
If you’re building or want to create a website, you should know that SEO(Search Engine Optimization) is an integral part of it, and cannot be skipped. SEO makes sure your website gets maximum visitor traffic - your website may have spectacular content, but without substantial visibility or visitor traffic, it is of little use, as the main goal of a website is to make your business visible and popular on the web.
When it comes to optimizing a website for search engine rankings and results, there are two methods - 1. On-page optimization 2. Off-page optimization
On-Page optimization comprises of actions you take directly within your website to improve it’s search engine rankings. This is the SEO(Search Engine Optimization) procedure you implement while building your website, using necessary SEO tools.
Off-page optimization is something that you do after your website is built and published online - this includes techniques you use to improve the position of a web page in the search engine results page. So, you can focus on this after building your website.
Now, on-page optimization can be done using SEO tools, that come integrated with the SEO optimized website builder these days. This can help you perform SEO more easily while building the website itself. Such website builders are usually more preferable because they enable you to perform SEO for your website more efficiently.
Few technical components of a website need to be optimized using this process, like -
Source code optimization - The source code of your site needs to be efficient; superfluous code needs to be removed, so the search engine bots can index the site properly.IP address optimization - To help make the IP address unique, such that the website is identified as unique by search engines.Server Speed optimization - Speeding up server response Other things that are included in the on-page SEO process are the following:
Meta-Title: A title for a web page, that is also displayed on search engine results as the title.Meta-Description: A summary of the web page content, having the primary keywords; this enables search engines to detect the web page more easily. Alt Text for images: A text describing an image added on the web page; meant to be an alternative text for that image. It is displayed when the image is unable to be fetched; also used by search engines to find the image and display in results.
A website made using a website builder CMS with good SEO tools (integrated) will definitely gain better visibility and more visitor traffic, because it will appear on top of search engine results, as opposed to one without proper Search Engine Optimization, what will appear somewhere on page 5 or 6 of search results.
With the help of on-page SEO, search engines can easily detect your website among other websites having names or URL similar to it - these could be competitor websites, fake or duplicate websites or websites that aren’t yours but will gain more visibility because of the similar name if proper SEO is not done.
