It’s common knowledge now that there is a chance for even most secure looking locks to be broken. Does this now mean that we leave our doors open and hope that nobody thinks about breaking in? No. We have no reason to worry about this because we can make very small changes that will make breaking tumbler locks impossible.

The creators of Bowley Lock claim that the very technology that makes it very secure is one that has existed long before it was easy to reproduce metal keys. The Bowley has a spinning cylindrical shield within it that totally eliminates any access to the tumblers while the key is removed. What this means is that if you try to rake the tumblers and open the lock with traditional lock picking tools and not the right key, you end up looking like a clown.

Now, to put the finishing touches on the design and send it into production, the creators of the Bowley Lock are now looking up to Kickstarter to help them gather the 500 thousand US Dollars required. Even at that, they still have a lot of work to do as regards funding because they have just two weeks left in their campaign.

The tumblers on which the foundation of the lock is built are commonly used and widely available, making the Bowley Lock not as expensive as you would think. You get a complete deadbolt with four sets of pre-cut keys when you send a $139 donation to the lock’s Kickstarter campaign, and get the full delivery sometime in July next year.

Like we said earlier, only a clown would try to pick your Bowley locks with traditional lock picking tools, so if your home is the only one in the neighborhood with Bowley locks installed, you can be sure they will move on to the next house. So if you want to own the only secure home in your neighborhood and have your neighbors asking how you do it constantly, buy Bowley locks, but don’t tell anyone else about them.
