Yorkville truly is one of the best neighborhoods in New York to live in. Yorkville is located on the East side of Manhattan, just above the Upper East Side. It is located on the coast of the East river which means that if you live here, you will definitely have an amazing view no matter where you turn. Yorkville is a neighborhood with a casual vibe yet it's also very luxurious because it has such a good location in New York. NYC's Yorkville Neighborhood is known for having the best small shops and great parks. If you are going to be spending some time in New York and you're staying in Yorkville or you're moving there, I'm here to tell you about the top 5 things to do in this neighborhood. I believe that in order to enjoy it more you definitely need to do some of these things when you have the time.

1. Go to the Carl Schurz Park

Even though Central Parks is close to Yorkville, Carl Schurz Park is the one you shouldn't miss. Sure, Central Park is great but it's very mainstream and it can be crowded on those nice and sunny days and if you're looking for some peace and quiet with a view, you can find it in this amazing park in Yorkville. It is situated right by the East River which great for those who can appreciate a nice view. It's also very big but not as big as Central Park of course. You won't find a lake here but you can definitely enjoy doing some outdoor activities here. There's a basketball court, a dog park where plenty of people gather daily to let their dogs play. There's also a huge playground here which children seem to adore. Carl Schurz Park is full of trails and paths where you can walk, ride a bike, or jog.

Wintertime in Carl Schurz Park is also very amazing. The trees are covered with snow and there is a lot of children running around, making snowmen and playing in the snow. There's an annual event in this park called Holiday Tree Lighting. It's when a lot of people gather around to sing carols, eat candy canes, drink hot chocolate and watch Christmas decorations. You'll never want to move out of your Yorkville house after spending the holiday season here.

2. Go to the oldest comedy club in New York

If you're a fan of having a good time and good jokes, you're in for a treat. Established in 1975, the Comic Strip is the oldest comedy club in New York. Most comedy clubs have one headliner, but not this one. When you come here, you get to enjoy multiple comedians on stage. This gives everyone an opportunity to have a laugh as the style of the jokes changes with every person. And only the best, professional comedians perform on the Comic Strip stage. And if you're someone who does stand up yourself, you can also come to one of many open mic events that happen here monthly. Not only are you going to have a lot of good time but you can also a lot of good food here. Our drink menu also has plenty of options - from draft beer to cocktails. This is definitely a nice spot for an anniversary or a date or if you're moving to NYC for a job, this is a fun place to go out with your colleagues.

3. Eat out

The Upper East Side is known for having amazing restaurants and Yorkville is the part where a lot of them are located. And if you want to prepare for your NYC relocation, you definitely need to know where you should go out to eat. Gran Morsi is just one of plenty of great Italian restaurants in New York. It's on the pricier side but the food you get to eat here is simply amazing. There are vegan and non-vegan options too. And if you're looking for a great place to have brunch in, Cafe D'Alsace is the place for you. It's a French bakery where they serve desserts and breakfast foods that are out of this world. Cafe D'Alsace also offers vegan options.

Yorkville is a part of the city where things change constantly. Old things go, new things come. That's just the way it is. And if you're looking for a new place to eat in, Sin City Burgers is the new craze. Ever since it opened the beginning of December, people have been going in and out. It's a very small restaurant so hurry up before the lines become long!

4. Just take a walk

I already mentioned that this part of town is a part of the Upper East Side which is the most exclusive part of New York City. This means that Yorkville has some amazing architecture. Just walking on these streets is going to make your day a whole lot better. This neighborhood is very safe and it's also very clean having in mind that we're talking about New York. Getting to know this part of the city can be very exciting because you will definitely run into a small vintage shop or an old bar as this is a very old part of town.

5. Have some unusual fun

Yorkville is the perfect place for having fun in the most unusual way possible. One of them is going to Spyscape. Spyscape is a spy museum and experience. It's been rated as the New York City's top attraction because it features world-class galleries of spy gadgets and stories and fun immersive spy challenges. It's based on James Bond movies so if you're a fan of that, this is definitely a place for you.
