Additives Used by the Plastic Dana Manufacturers
Posted: Jul 31, 2014
Initially, the polymers are produced as Powders, Granules or lacs and Plastic Dana. They are very seldom used in their basic pure form and different materials are added to them to change their properties. A variety of additives are mixed into the base polymers in order to modify their properties and extend the use of the base polymer. Hence, to attain certain properties, different additives are mixed to the base polymer. For example, if one needs properties such as sunlight resistance, abrasion resistance, strength, etc., the additives suitable will be added to them. So, let us look at some of the additives in detail below:
Additives Used by the Plastic Dana Manufacturers:
- Blowing Agents
- Fillers
- Colorants
- Impact modifiers
- Protective agents
Many of the plastic products are cellular in structure looking like a chocolate Aero bar. These foamed or expanded products are manufactured by adding ‘blowing agents’ into the base polymer. During the molding process, the fillers are added to the polymer producing foam throughout the hot polymer and fill it with bubbles. Expanded polystyrene is a type of Blowing Agent.
Fillers refer to a broad range of materials that are added into the base polymers for modifying their properties. Moreover, they can also be added into the Plastic Dana and Granules to lower the manufacturing costs as well as the cost of the products made from them. Adding wood flour to phenol formaldehyde is a perfect example of adding Fillers to the plastic products.
You must feel good looking at the colorful plastic products, but the polymers do not have any natural color. So, either pigments or dyes are added into them to fill them with attractive colors and textures. The pigments give opaque colors while for the transparent colors dyes can be used. A range of colors can be obtained from opaque to clear black color using the materials. Acrylic is a type of colorant.
Many of the plastics are designed to have great impact strength such as the ABS Plastic Dana, which are used in the manufacturing of the car bumps. The task of the impact modifiers is to improve the impact resistance of the plastic products. Based on the acrylic polymers, the impact modifiers are used along with the PVC to manufacture clear rigid bottles characterized with good impact strength.
The plastics can be degraded by light and heat, especially the UV rays during exposure to sun. Hence, to save the plastic products from being bleached, Protective agents are used. They stop the degradation of the plastic. The most common use of them is in the manufacturing of UPVC pipes for drainage and other piping systems.
Besides, the additives mentioned above, the other two types of additives used by the Plastic Dana Manufacturers and Suppliers In Delhi, India, are lubricants and plasticizers. The plasticizers reduce the stickiness of the plastic on the surface of the mold helping it to flow seamlessly. Moreover, the plasticizers are added to the polymers to make them more flexible. With the use of the Plasticizers, Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (UPVC) can be changed from a hard, rigid material used for drainpipes into a soft, flexible material used for upholstery.
