MHT CET Exam 2020

MHT CET or MH CET is Maharashtra Common Entrance Test which is conducted to take admission to programs related to first-year Engineering and Technology programs (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy programs (BPharma/PharmD) by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai in the state only. Earlier, till 2018 this exam was conducted by DTE, Maharashtra.

In 2013, the exam was banned and the admission to undergraduate courses related to engineering programs was done based on JEE Main scores. But after 2016 this exam was again conducted by the State govt. and the admission was given based on class 12th scores also. 50% weightage was given to the class 12th exam and 50% on the CET scores. Also, from 2018 the MHT CET exam was made mandatory to take admission into colleges in the states.

Now, we will have a look at the fees of the MHT CET exam 2020.

For general/J&K Migrants/OMS candidates- INR 800

For ST/SC/PWD/NT/SBC candidates- INR 600

Eligibility criteria for MHT CET exam 2020

Now, we will see the eligibility criteria for the NPAT exam 2020 so that candidates get an idea of whether they are eligible for the exam or not.

  • Aspiring candidates must have Indian nationality.

  • Aspiring candidates must have passed the class 12th exam or equivalent exam from any recognized board or any university.

  • Aspiring candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam and for the reserved category, the qualifying marks are 45% marks.

  • Aspiring candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to take part in the exam.

MHT CET 2020 exam pattern

Candidates are required to go through the pattern of the exam to get the exact idea of the syllabus for the exam. If we have the exam pattern in our hands we will prepare for the exam in a very good manner.

  • The exam will be conducted online in a computer-based test.

  • The MHT CET 2020 exam will have three question papers with multiple choice questions in all the papers.

  • The MHT CET 2020 exam will have a total of 100 marks.

  • The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.

  • The MHT CET exam 2020 will have questions from the subjects:- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.

  • Paper 1 will have a marking of 2 marks for each correct answer and Paper 2 and Paper 3 will have a marking of 1 mark for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking scheme for any exam.

MHT CET exam syllabus

Now, we will look into the syllabus of the exam so that we can prepare accordingly for the exam. The syllabus of the exam consists of only three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Various important topics are considered important.

Physics: -This subject has its importance and students need to prepare this subject strongly. There are few topics which are of immense importance like, Physics and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Properties of Solids and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei and many more.

Chemistry: - This subject is also important to score maximum marks in the exam. The topics are - Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, General Principles and Process of Isolation of Metals, Hydrogen, Purification and Characterization of Organic Compounds, Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Organic Compounds Containing Halogens, Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen many more.

Mathematics: - This section will have questions from various topics which are: -

Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex numbers and Quadratic Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Permutations and Combinations, Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem, and its Simple Applications, Sequences and Series, Limit, Continuity and many more.

Biology: - Botany will have topics like Diversity in organisms, Plant Water Relations and Mineral Nutrition, Plant Growth and Development, Biochemistry of the cell.

And Zoology will have topics like the Organization of Cell, Human Nutrition, Animal tissues, Human Respiration.

So this is the syllabus for the exam.
