Like every parent, you also have a dream to make your kid outshine. What else can be the best way than the piano to make this dream come true!

This art is super exciting, healing and soothing. It woos. Its charisma infallibly spellbinds. Even, kids start dancing on its tunes. However, most of them are stubborn. A few are talkative and introvert also, yet music can attract them all. It is the beauty of music.

How do you encourage your kid to practice piano?

Parents often face a daunting challenge when their child denies to practice regularly. So! How do they motivate them to practice piano every day?

Here are a few super effective ways that can encourage them:

1. Make practice a routine: Practice makes a man perfect. But, they often love playing over practicing. This temptation for games is spontaneous. You, being a parent, are accountable to build a positive habit of practicing piano lessons daily that he/she would find hard to break.

Choose the time that does not fall right after the school, as some children feel dizzy. Evening is again a time to play and relax. Try to make them an early riser for practicing piano lessons. It is a time when their mind is very active to grab what comes in their way.

Track their progress through a chart that every family member can see and brag about.

  1. Avoid being time-constraint: Many piano teachers mandate half an hour practice every day. Children feel being in a cage if they are pressed for doing anything. The retaliation is quite obvious if it happens almost every next day. The grudge does not let them practice with radical concentration. So, stop being time-constraint. Let them learn it willingly with sheer joy.
  2. Let them do what they want: A child good at playing keys may not as good in singing. Creating new notation keeps him/her busy oftentimes. Let him/her enjoy what he/ she likes to engage with. Do boost them to voice about their choice and likelihood.
  3. Don’t discourage: None is born a perfect pianist. Being an imperfect is absolutely normal for a kid. It does not mean that he/ she should be discouraged. At times, pointing at their imperfections is ok. But, do not let their frustration top up to the grudge. When they are not focused, encourage them to take a break and do what delights them. Despite showing no improvement, pat them saying that you can do it. Ample praise is a key to refill them with enthusiasm. It will help them conquer whatever frustration they have.
  4. Choose reward over bribe: Bribery cannot always prove a magical tweak to steer your child for practicing, but a reward can be so. Start a reward system. This idea will pay off when your child will span across every milestone in learning piano. Even, many piano coaches reward their students when they go the extra miles. Such rewards and appraisals motivate them, which they yearn for.

One can play with creativity and fun. The parents or piano coach can set a goal to achieve without any mistake. Award if he/she achieves that goal. It would be like a challenge that can create learning.
