Whether you choose to go with the reliability of a chiffon saree or be bold and opt for a brocade saree, there is always some or the other thing that can be taken as inspiration while dressing up for an event.

  • Wedding saree - A lot of young brides have been following the trend of donning heavily embroidered Bollywood sarees for their wedding. Bright colours like red, pink, peach, and crimson can be opted for while selecting a saree for the wedding. You can always look for embroidery work in the borders or even in the entire saree if you wish to add glamour and royalty to your outfit. Georgette is the best material for wedding sarees as advocated by many designers as it is capable of holding heavy work and yet gives an elegant appearance.
  • Golden saree - Evergreen sarees are an inseparable part of Rekha's wardrobe. She undoubtedly has the best collection of Kanjeevaram sarees, which is practically the dream of every second woman. Once again, she was seen wearing a fantastic all-golden Kanjeevaram saree at an awards function. You can also sport a royal look while attending a wedding by wearing a handwoven golden saree. Generally, such sarees are made of pure silk, which contributes to its eye-catching yet subtle drape. Pairing it with mutes jewellery pieces and accessories like a minimal design clutch can be a great outfit for a wedding event.
  • Multi-coloured chiffon saree - As Shilpa Shetty was once spotted wearing a multi-shaded
chiffon saree, the craze for them has only increased among women. The saree should be kept plain, and focus should be laid on the lace and borders with shiny sequin works and beads. You can pair it with a matching blouse to keep your overall look elegant yet stylish. It is definitely an ideal outfit for social gatherings and personal events like get-togethers.

  • Monochrome party wear saree - Some of the ladies out there might be skeptical about wearing a saree at a party, but clear that up because if you select a monochrome saree to wear at any formal party or event, you will surely make heads turn. Think about the navy-blue saree Deepika Padukone wore at the party in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. For a long period of time, people weren't able to get over it because of the glamour quotient it added to her look. The monochrome trend has definitely made a huge comeback, and women prefer sarees that feature a single yet bold colour. Navy blue, dark green, muted beige, sunflower yellow, and bright red are some colours that never go out of fashion. Sarees in the said colours always look classy and can be worn with blouses in complementary colours or darker shades of the same colour.
  • Ruffled border saree - The retro style is being brought back into modern fashion as many leading ladies have been spotted wearing plain sarees with a ruffled border. These types of sarees are very apt for casual occasions because they are easy to drape and comfortable to wear as compared to all other kinds of sarees. They follow the track of minimalism yet draw attention to your outfit.
  • Cotton sarees - Your best bet at looking graceful at any formal event like an office party or even a meeting is definitely wearing a cotton saree. Pure cotton sarees most certainly add the handloom effect and professional appearance along with a refreshing change to your normal saree looks. You can take inspiration from Vidya Balan for wearing a simple cotton saree in colours like grey, beige, and olive to make an impact at a formal gathering.
