Most kittens learn everything by themselves or from cat moms. But when you buy a cat/kitten, it is important to house train it in all the possible way. In this process, you have to understand every emotion your kitten shows including when it want to affection, food, urinate or poop. Usually, the new kittens or cats are mostly frightened and can pee or poop to express their or fear.

Cats are very particular about cleanliness by nature and prefer a dumping area other than living areas such as dirt/sand to relieve themselves so by nature, they know it where to bathroom and not but some cats just don’t understand everything, for them it is difficult to adjust to using a litter. For those situations, you need to have little more patience and encouragement towards your cat.

Litter train is important or else when you get back home from work you can find poop everywhere around your beautiful place; so for you, there are few tricks to deal with this situation and trust me it is much easier than to train a dog. If you are in India, you can buy cats online from MyKitten who provides litter trained kittens with fully vaccinated and dewormed cats.

Tips and Tricks to Litter Train Your Cat

  1. There are many options but use unscented litter if possible. Kittens and cats may not like perfumed litter. You can also think of a covered litter box or an open tray whatever your cat feels comfortable with. And recently the scoop-able little has been the choice of many.
  2. Buy a large size litter box or tray as kittens grow very fast and you will be needing a large size tray very soon, so why not getting one in the beginning and also they must have enough space to dig and bury their poop; hiding their poop is their nature and why is that, I will probably talk about it on a different blog.
  3. When you are not available, your cat should be confined to a single room, preferably bathroom, utility room, basement or garage, provide a bowl of water in one corner and a litter box on the other and a warm place to sleep at one end of the room. The new kittens usually sleep more than the older cats so it is easy to confine them in a single spot.
  4. If your kitten is new to the ‘litter’ situation then just lift it into the tray. Help your cat by placing him/her on the tray early in the morning, the last thing at night and after every meal. Keep repeating this until your kitten can find the litter tray for herself by smell and location. As cats do not prefer to live in the same area with their toilet so place the litter in a different area from there living and playing area.
  5. It is very important to clean out or poop-free the litter tray daily. Wash the litter tray thoroughly every week or two with soapy water, and replace the litter periodically. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after washing so that it doesn’t retain any soap/detergent smell.

A simple suggestion at the end just to remind you that scolding or punishing might not help you with your cat but prevention and praise or a treats for getting it right are the keys to training. If you want to put some cats for sale in India, you can choose different online marketplace.
