Posted: Feb 11, 2020
Before we can even discuss what backhoes are made up of it is important to know that they are composed of unique components that you can replace if the need arises from JCB spare parts suppliers in India. Backhoes are very distinctive in appearance as it has appendages jutting all over. What makes a backhoe loader interesting to look at are the different types of models available.
A typical backhoe loader is simply composed of three construction machines assembled into a single unit.
Components of a Backhoe Loader
This equipment has three components, each of which has a specific role and you can replace them if the need arises from the best JCB spare parts suppliers in India. On a regular construction site, the backhoe loader makes use of all of its three functions to complete the project. These are the tractor, the loader, and the backhoe.
The Tractor
The tractor is the central part or structure of the backhoe loader just like in the case of the JCB rock breaker machine. The ordinary tractors used by farmers in farming are admirable all-terrain machines and the backhoe tractor has similar capabilities. It can handle any kind of rough terrain effortlessly.
With its tough diesel engine with a turbocharger, huge rugged tires, it is the quintessential construction monster. It also has a cab that has the ordinary controls for steering, brakes, steering wheel among other controls.
It is worthy to note that backhoe cabs can be fully enclosed or have an open canopy design. This is to afford the operator some protection.
The Loader
While the backhoe is attached at the back of the equipment, the loader is linked at the front. Also, the two pieces of equipment serve varying roles.
The loader can accomplish several tasks and primarily, you can operate it like a coffee scoop or a large, strong dustpan. Note that it is not usually deployed for digging, rather, it is used in picking up and hefting massive quantities of loose earth or material.
When you want to smooth surfaces over, similar to butter knives or to drive dirt like plows, the loader will come in handy. The loader is operated while the tractor is in motion.
The Backhoe
The backhoe is the principal tool in the backhoe loader. Its major application is digging up hard, compressed material, especially earth, hefting loads that are heavy, for instance, sewer boxes.
What it does is to heft the material and place it on a pile by the side of the ditch.Explaining it practically, the backhoe is a huge and very strong version of your finger or arm. It comprises of three segments, namely the bucket, the boom, and the stick.
In the practical example, it is similar to the arm in that the arm has three sections — the hand, the upper arm, and the forearm.
The sections of the backhoe are linked by 3 joints, which compare to the elbow, shoulder, and wrist. It moves quite similarly to your arm.
In some backhoes, the boom bends forward for easier digging when there are obstacles. Besides, that design allows for additional space when the backhoe is curled in with a complete load.
