A holy pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Located to the north of the Himalayan barrier in Tibet, Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar yatra are popularly known all through the world for their religious value, natural beauty, cultural significance and mythological importance. Mount Kailash is considered to be the home of Lord Shiva. For the Jains and Buddhist this place also held immense importance as these are holy places. Being a sacred place thousand of tourist every year goes through this journey with great pride and belief in god. They face many challenges in this journey passing the mountains of Nepal and China. The Skanda Puran says that this is the residence of Lord Shiva. This region is followed by many religions and people throughout the world for its revered importance.

Lake Mansarover is situated near the four greatest river of Asia Brahmaputra, Indus, karanali and Sutlej which is why it is considered to be most famous pilgrimage for the devotees. According to the Hindu mythology the Lake is originated in the thoughts of Lord Brahma and then placed on Earth. The name Mansarovar is combination of two words the Manas and Sarovar meaning Mind and Lake. One who drinks the water of Mansarover will go directly to the home of Lord Shiva and all his sins are clensed through this sacred water. It is also believed to be home of hamsa goosa in the Summer time. The Hamsa goose is a very important symbol according to Hindu mythology representing wisdom and beauty.

As this is the most sacred pilgrimage in whole of Asia many devotees come to this place to attain eternal bliss and soul peace. Some of the Tibetian leave cloth drop of blood, hair or stone to leave their ego and prejudices behind.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is directly related to the many major areas in the northern state of Uttarakhand which is referred to as the land of Gods due to many Hindu temples and pilgrimage found here. The region was closed between 1949 and 1980 due to Indo China border disagreement. But now all the things have changed as the External Ministry of Affairs has collaborated with Chinese government to open the doors for the yatra. Only a limited no of people are allowed to go through this yatra as the path is not easy to travel.

The dates for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2014 starts from June 14 to September 9 so those who are interested can book the travel with tour operators as this is the opportunity to go to the holy pilgrimage which is held once in a year.
