NDA or National Defence Academy Exam is an entrance exam organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) in every year to recruit candidates in different Indian Defence forces like Army, Navy and Air Force. It is the entrance examination, wherein, candidates qualifying the written test will also have to clear the SSB interview round for your complete selection.The candidates who got selected in SSB then go through medical process.After passes the medical test the final merit list are made and the selected candidates are send to their respective training centers.NDA( or National Defence Academy) is a premier institute or training centre that trains young boys to become officers in the INDIAN DEFENCE FORCES. NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year ( in April & September). Only 12th pass candidates or 12th appearing candidates are eligible to fill NDA examination form to sit in the examination. The exam consists of two papers namely Mathematics of 300 marks and General ability Test(GAT) of 600 marks & each of 150 minutes. Mathematics exam consists of questions from mathematics of class 12th level, GAT exam consists of questions of English, General knowledg and General science. Candidates applied for Airforce and Navy should have passed class 12th with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects,For army branch all stream candidates are eligible. After clearing the written examination, qualified candidates are called for SSB interview according to their choices in the 3 defence forces. Those who are recommended from the SSB are gone through medical examination or check up. Those who clear all the three stages and have name in Final merit List are called for a 3 year course to NDA.After a 3 years basic training at NDA, ARMY cadets are sent to Indian Military Academy Dehradun(IMA), Air Force cadets to Air Force (AFA) and Navycadets of NDA to Indian Naval Academy (INA) for final stage training. And later these cadets become officers in their respective forces & serve nation.

Syllabus of NDA

The Mathematics paper contains 300 marks while General Ability test holds 600 marks. The written test will be of total of 900 marks.For every incorrect response, 0.33 marks will be deducted as negative marking in the examination.After clearing the written test, candidates have to go through the SSB Interview. The interview process will have total of 900 marks.The question paper of Mathematics and PART B of General Ability test will be available in both English and Hindi languages.

NDA 2020 Syllabus for General Ability Test

Paper 2 in NDA i.e. the General Ability Test judges a candidate's basic awareness and English proficiency. This section is further divided into two parts, English and General Knowledge.

Total marks awarded to Paper 2 are 600.

This paper must be completed in 2.5 hours.

Part A- English

The English portion of the entrance test is designed in a way to judge a candidate's knowledge of the basic grammar and vocabulary.

It judges a candidate's ability to form correct sentences and use of words.

The syllabus of the English paper ranges from various aspects like the knowledge and usage of grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and his mental ability to remember and place the meaning of words in their proper places.

Marks allotted to this section are 300.

Part B- General Knowledge

The question paper on General Knowledge will cover current affairs, questions from Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events. NDA syllabus of each topic is given below. The paper aims to check knowledge and intelligent understanding of the subject.
