Most key event venues have their inhouse chefs to provide great meals for guests, there are many places that do not offer meal services. While it is very likely there will be extra effort required to engage the service of a catering company which may put off some people, professional event companies have the means to rent the best venue for your event. This may involve tapping onto their established network to do so. Before you hire a catering company to handle the meals for the event, it is helpful to learn some preliminary ideas about the menu and to put these tips in your pocket.

1. When choosing the food service, you should consider your personal needs and the size of the event.

Make sure that the people you hire for the event are able to handle the number of people you want to invite. It is also important to take into account the services you need from a catering service provider. Sometimes you need an appetizer and a main course, or a main course and another. Taking into account all the important details, your caterer should be able to handle your party size without hesitation. If guests have special dietary requirements, such as vegetarians, please ensure that the catering provider offers such vegetarian catering options.

2. You should note the location of your event.

If the location is crucial, consider the location (and the distance) that the caterer has to travel to reach your event. If the caterers have not served to your area before, they may have difficulty in attending meetings. Try to find a catering dealer who is familiar with your venue or at least has similar experience. There are local companies that have built full kitchens for activities but the companies may not want you to use their facilities. If the caterer does not ensure that everything meets or exceeds your expectations, this may not be the best company for you.

3. Self-service orders will be processed in at least 3 days

Remember, specially catered meals are not just ready to cook meals.

Catering can take up to 3 days to prepare, while simple food orders take 1 hour in many cases. What is the reason?

Catering is a difficult logistical task. Whether is vegetarian food or dishes with meat, every meal you order has its own packaging and presentation equipment. For example, satay are delivered on metal shells. It comes to your location and is placed in a porcelain, under a heated lamp, with satay sauce, onions and cucumbers, each with its own packaging and service equipment. Take these, multiply it by 10 dishes, add tables, decoration and extension lines, you will realize that there is a lot of logistical work.

Book in advance to give your caterer to time to ensure that your buffet is well organized!

4. Try food from the caterer itself

Taste the food prepared by the caterer and see how it is presented. It is also a good time to meet the cook and determine his skills. Check if the food can be customized to suit your taste, and make sure your feedback is taken seriously. Ask how the food was prepared.

With these consideration in mind, you can be sure the catering company will deliver an excellent service.
