CCNA is an Associate level certification whereas CCNP is a professional level certification. The Main difference is CCNA certifications offer basic knowledge of networking while CCNP certifications provide a detailed knowledge of advanced networking technologies. Cisco System offers many courses in Cisco networking.

Apart from that there are five different Cisco certifications are there, such as

  • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA R&S)
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Cloud (CCNA Cloud)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Data Centre (CCNA Data Centre)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a widely approved industry certification. It was developed by Cisco Systems to identify the primary level skills in installation and support of medium-sized networks. This certification authenticates the ability to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot routed & switched systems. The certified professionals use Wide Area Network (WAN) to establish a connection to remote sites.

They must have a good knowledge and skills about network security threats and fundamental networking concepts and terminologies. Becoming a CCNA certified is the beginning step to become a Network Administrator or Network Engineer.

Skills for a CCNA person:

  • Must be able to verify, configure and troubleshoot VLAN and inter-switch communications.
  • Implement all the appropriate tasks for wireless local area network (WLAN) administration.
  • Have good knowledge about different network design and topologies that interact to form a secure IT network.
  • Can describe the working of computer networks and their interactions with networked devices.
  • Must be able to verify, configure and troubleshoot VLAN and inter-switch communications.
  • A proper understanding of routing and router operations on Cisco devices will make it easier to resolve issues.

How to become a Network Engineer?

Networking is bound with our day-to-day life. There are multiple roles available for network engineers undergoing CCNA Training. There may be n number of courses available but networking will always be having scope for both fresher’s and professionals. Some of the roles of network engineers are:

  • In Providing maintenance for various networks
  • Analysing, development and evaluation of systems
  • In the creation of procedures for inventory of networks.
  • In providing specific network for specific companies
  • In diagnosing and finding resolutions for network faults
  • Monitoring traffic for integrity and optimum performance

How can we transfer data in CCNA?

  • Simplex
  • Half-duplex
  • Full-duplex

What do you mean by MTU?

MTU stands for Maximum Transmission Unit that refers to maximum size of packet, which can be sent out over the data line without fragmentation.

Explain the working of cut-through LAN.

In Cut-Through LAN switching, as soon as the router receives the data frame, it will immediately send it out again and forward it to the next network segment after reading the destination address.

What do you mean by Topology?

Topology is just the arrangement of elements in a specific order.

Different types:

  • Bus
  • Star
  • Mesh
  • Ring
  • Hybrid
  • Tree

What do you mean by latency?

Latency is amount of time delay, which measures the point from which a network device receives a data frame to the time it sends it out again towards another network segment.

Mention the types of network in CCNA.

There are two types of network:

  • Server-based network
  • Peer-to-Peer network
