Gandhi Engineering College(https://gec.edu.in/), a name to reckon with in the field of technical education, was established in the year 2006, with due approval from AICTE, New Delhi and affiliation with BPUT, Odisha.

Under the aegis of Dr. Satya Prakash Panda and stewardship of Mr. Manas Ranjan Panda the institution has grown leaps and bounds and has successfully carved a niche for itself. So much so that today it is the cherished destination of students across the country.

Standing tall amidst a serene environment, sprawling over 25 acres, GEC is a campus of an architect’s delight. Beautifully ornate massive academic building, students activity centers, hostels, central library, central mess, auditorium, playing grounds, picturesque gardens; all in a gated campus provides its students an atmosphere most conducive for learning.

Away from the hustle bustle of the city but only 15 kilometres from Bhubaneswar airport, 10kms from Baramunda bus stand, 20 kms from Bhubaneswar railway station and close to the NH5, GEC is a world onto itself.

GEC Received "Best Emerging T School of Odisha" award from Dr Shiv Nadar, Chairman and Founder HCL Technology at Data Quest Digital India Leadership conclave held at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi on 11th December 2018

Gandhi Engineering College,Bhubaneswar is awarded with "Best Engineering College in East India for Industry Interface 2018" for outstanding and exemplary contribution towards Education,Skill development and Research on 21st December, 2018 at India International centre, New Delhi during Research and Innovation Summit.

On 21st November, 2018 GEC, Bhubaneswar honored with IIC (Institution’s Innovation Council) certification from Ministry of HRD. IIC is a MHRD initiative, specially targeting the young talents and helps to establish a culture of innovation in campus, where students gets an opportunity to think beyond their regular academic curriculum. This will help to involve students more into R&D initiatives and make them aware about the latest trends in their respective discipline.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation appreciate to Gandhi Engineering College, Bhubaneswar for its contribution towards "Clean- E Bhubaneswar" movement. Honorable Principal of Dr. R. R. Sabat have received the award and certificate on behalf of GEC on a evening of award ceremony function, organized by BMC on 30th October 2018.

Improving high-quality scientific research is a necessary requirement for creating successful applications. The objective of Research & development (R&D) initiatives undertaken by Gandhi Engineering College, Bhubaneswar is to build research careers, internationalization of human potential, support to strengthen the knowledge foundation and promote the creation of new applications, as well as societal impact of education, research and innovation. All education, research and innovation of this Institute should aim to be of a high standard.

The goal of creating technological and social innovations has emerged alongside R&D-based activities. To achieve the high quality research ambience the following policies has been undertaken. A research development cell has been established that will prepare and implement the documents for development of research and development activities within the Institute.
