Burgers and its origins

We all know how easy it is to get a hamburger or a cheese burger at your favorite restaurant, drive-thru burger joint or even at a deli near you. But, did you know how it got into existence?According to many, the name hamburger has been given a German city called Hamburg. They used to make and sell ground beef patties as steaks without any bread in Germany. It is suggested that USA was the first country where those beef patties were first sold along with two slices of bread and was called a "hamburger sandwich".There is some controversy over the origins of the hamburger because bread and ground beef, its two main basic ingredients, had been made and eaten separately for 100s of years, before its invention, in different countries. But when the hamburger was introduced to the world, they quickly added all of its current ingredients, including onions, lettuce, and sliced pickles.
