Excellent wellness does not just happen on a whim.
It takes planning, time, and effort.
Additionally, the best results come from taking steps to address overall wellness rather than just pain points.
You are an interconnection of numerous systems, so focusing on yourself as a whole can help to generally improve most conditions.
Let’s take a look at some actions you can take for holistic wellness across mind, body, and spirit.
Holistic Wellness: The Body
Investigating ways to heighten your physical wellness usually will not present to be a challenge for most people.
Why?
We more often than not get this beneficial information from our healthcare providers on at least an annual basis.
You know the drill... eat nutritiously, move more, get enough rest, drink plenty of water.
Additionally, with the advent of healthcare portals, internet, and email, answers to body wellness-related questions can be found with just a few keystrokes.
However, without an effective plan, you are less likely to reach your body wellness goals.
So, conduct your wellness research, keeping in mind the goal of crafting a body wellness plan best suited for you.
The best plans address not only what you take into your body (food, liquids, supplements, etc.) but also energy consumption (the activities you do to burn calories).

Holistic Wellness: The Mind
Many individuals simply forget about taking care of their mental health when considering a journey to better wellness.
Yet, as Morpheus says during The Matrix, "The body cannot live without the mind."
In our "go, go, go" lifestyles, we often don’t take the time just allow our minds to stop and recover.
Furthermore, many individuals fail to exercise their minds to keep them sharp.
Activities such as writing, drawing, and painting can be cathartic and help you to free your mind of everyday stresses.
Working puzzles like crosswords and sudoku may assist with keeping important problem-solving and decision-making skills strong.
My favorite mind-sharping pleasures of late have been working word puzzles through a smartphone app or math problems on Khan Academy.
Holistic Wellness: The Spirit
Think for a minute about how your best friend would describe you.
Kind, loving, humorous, fun, giving, and happy are probably some of the traits your closest friend would use.
All of these examples provide a glimpse into your spirit, the part of you that makes you uniquely who you are.
Just like the other parts of your being, the spirit must be nurtured when pursuing holistic wellness.
Self-care activities to feed your soul could include meditation, prayer, reading scripture and inspirational sayings, keeping a gratitude journal, giving compliments to others, and volunteering.
Additionally, you should spend time enjoying your relationships with others.
Learn to have fun together and let the important people in your life know how much you love and appreciate them.
All of these activities can help to ward off feelings of depression, reduce stress, and positively impact overall wellness.
Final Thoughts
Taking the holistic wellness approach helps increase the chance of wellness success.
Your body, mind, and spirit all need consideration and care for you to reach your full potential.
Activities like the ones shared above can start you on the path of holistic wellness, leading to a better you.
So, get out there and claim your best self!
