Large class sizes of the schools inhibit the learning of students to a certain level. In a class there are students who are naturally brilliant and therefore excel in studies. These students get the attention of teachers all the time. This further stops average students from raising doubts and asking questions. These days parents are too busy to be able to address the study related issues of their Children. Teaching children is not an easy task. One needs to be really calm and convincing. Stress from work at office and home doesn’t let them prepare for teaching their children and hence they are not able to effectively help them.

Parents usually try to resolve this problem by sending their children to private tuition classes. But tuition classes repeat the same stories of schools- large batch sizes and traditional pattern of teaching. Children get to learn very less and they end up losing their motivation. Children feel even more burdened.

Parents should see that they don’t send their students to any popular tuition classes that aim only at completing the syllabi. Parents need to do a need assessment of their kids and identify their problem areas. Children are not necessarily weak in all the subjects. There are some subjects that interest them more than other. There is absolutely no need to send kids for studying something which they have already understood in school. Focus should be on the weaker areas. Parents should search a professional tutorwho understands this as well. They should hire a tutor who doesn’t teach a large batch and is ready to give home tuitions. This rather saves lot of time of students which they can utilize in extracurricular activities. A professional tutor would understand the psychology of children well. He would change his teaching pattern and behavior towards children accordingly. Children should be encouraged to pursue their interest. A good tutor would identify the students’ subject of interest and would enhance the students’ knowledge by providing him outside information and study material.

A professional tutor would do behavioral assessment of the students. He would identify any discrepancy in the behavior of a student and would try to find the reason by counseling him. He would give a correct feedback to the Parents and appropriate suggestions to correct everything. Parents should take feedback from the tutors for their children positively. But, they should not just rely on it. They should themselves assess the behavioral pattern of their kid and try to get to the roots of it. Children also have stress related to many issues. If these issues don’t get addressed on time they can negatively affect the personality of the children. Every parent wants to nurture his kid to become a balanced and satisfied person in future. A parent would want that his kid become wise enough to take decisions best in his favor and achieve excellence in his chosen field. It is natural for children to imitate their parents in most of the things. But, sometimes even parents try to force their own likings and disliking on their children. This inhibits the growth of their own personality. They end up becoming clone of their parents. Parents need to be vigilant about it.
