Over the years, solar inverter have found their place in residential homes and commercial hubs. They play an important role in a solar power system: they convert the electricity from the solar panels to create a form of electric supply that can be used by appliances, lighting, and other electronics that are used in a house. In layman terms, these inverters require no power from mains; all input to operate the machines is drawn directly from the sun. This makes it cheap and available and abundant.

Below are a few of the many advantages of these inverters:

Solar energy has been proven to decrease the greenhouse effect as well as abnormal weather change

Solar inverters are cost-effective

Ordinary inverters use fuel, gas or electricity - their main source generates power from it. Solar inverter use solar energy as their power source. Solar inverters convert direct current that is obtained through photo-voltaic(PV) panels to alternating current for further utilization. Hence, they are more cost-effective than general inverters.

With some very noticeable pros, these inverters do have some cons. Listed below are some of their disadvantages:

They are expensive

Though these inverters are cost-effective and help you save a lot of money, they are initially a huge investment. Solar inverters have to be bought with panels and the entire solar energy system, you will be charged for the machinery and their installation as well. In the long run, it seems like a good option, but if you’re not thinking long term, this technology can be cost-prohibitive.

The system needs space

The inverter is a small piece of equipment, but you need a dedicated space for installing the panels, and if your house doesn’t meet the space requirements, the solar energy system isn’t for you.
