Steps to Become a PMP Certified Professional

Step 1

At the beginning of your journey to become a project management professional, you will need to read the credentials handbook. Just like BA professionals read BABOK in their business analyst training, you will need to study PMBOK to pass the exam of PMP. It contains all the knowledge areas of project management and helps you to know details about it. Most of the questions of the PMP exam are based on the PMBOK, so it will also help you to pass the exam.

Step 5

While you are studying the PMBOK, consider reading some other study materials too. It will help you to understand all of the processes easily. Participating in the mock tests are very crucial, it helps you to know the question pattern and get familiar with the exam atmosphere. Taking the help of both of them will enhance your PMP exam prep and make you ready for the exam. According to many PMP certified professionals, study materials contain many extra things that are not included in PMBOK.

Step 6

In this step, you will need to sit for the exam to become a PMP certified professional. With the help of hard study and PMP exam prep, you will need to answer 200 multiple-choice questions. Depending on it you will pass or fail to become PMP certified.
