Is manual pinning more effective or not?

Having a Pinterest strategy in place that is both effective and sustainable can be a tricky thing to do. One of the hardest things about Pinterest marketing is that you can’t do it quickly or on the side, it’s a pretty time and labor-intensive thing to do. Yet, if you can find the balance between the work being worth it and seeing the results, then it’s a great way to get your content out there. In general, there are two ways to pin, you either manually pin everything or you pay for a scheduler to take some of the work out of your hands. But is paying for a scheduler really necessary and how effective is manual pinning truly?

Manual pinning: how time-consuming is it?

One of the biggest downsides to manual pinning is the time you need to take daily to actually do the pinning. On top of that, it can be a struggle to keep track of what you need to pin where and when. The good side of manual pinning is that it is free, easy to control and agile, as in, you can adapt your strategy as you go.

The biggest mistake people make on Pinterest, when they decide to manually pin, is that they do it randomly. A big part of manual pinning is having a strategy in place, a great way to find a manual pinning strategy that works is to purchase an affordable Pinterest course that can teach you all you need to know. The important bit here is that you want to find a Pinterest course that offers a pinning strategy that is as efficient as possible, so that you’re not wasting time pinning without seeing any additional benefits. A great course that can be low maintenance is the Pinteresting Strategies course. Each pinning strategy also has its downsides though, you can get a good idea of the pros and cons of this pinning strategy in this review of the Pinteresting Strategies course by Carly Campbell.

Do I need to use a scheduler then?

The other way to be successful on Pinterest is often said to be using a scheduler. This, however, isn’t the full truth. You can’t be successful on Pinterest with a scheduler alone, you still need a strategy that will help you achieve your goals. There are a couple of courses out there to help you out with this, though be aware that the Tailwind rules recently changed, so some courses might no longer be of any use.

If you want to make an educated decision on whether to use manual pinning or not, you’re going to have to do your research. For example, a blog post comparing manual pinning and a scheduler like this is a good place to start. Though read articles from more than one source. Get as many opinions as you can and don’t blindly trust everyone who is way too positive about something. Because everything has a downside, that’s just the reality of things.

Get informed and try it out. A good way to test using a scheduler is to get the most out of the trial periods. And wait it out, see if it truly made a difference. The same goes for manual pinning, sometimes it’ll work, sometimes it won’t, it depends on a lot of factors like what is your niche and how much time you have to spend on Pinterest. If you notice that it’s not worth it, then you still have two options. You can decide to leave Pinterest marketing out of your content marketing strategy, or if you have the funds, you can hire a Pinterest virtual assistant. They will be able to provide you with the benefits of manual pinning, without you having to spend a lot of time on Pinterest. Either way, make a conscious decision if Pinterest is worth it to you or not.
