Having tension headaches? Use these remedies

Posted: Apr 30, 2020
Headaches are common, sometimes flu or cold triggers them, other times too much screen time or dehydration can trigger it. In any case, having a headache is not pretty. Your eyes are tired and in pain, you have stinging pain in your head, and it makes everything unbearable.
Headaches are of a lot of types- migraines, tension headaches, seasonal headaches, and so on. If you experience headaches regularly, it is best to see a physician. They can help you get a diagnosis, and find a reason for the same.
For recurring headaches and even impromptu ones, here are remedies that you should try.
Drink water
Don't be surprised! Dehydration can cause severe headaches. When you don’t drink enough water, it leads to migraines and tension headaches. So, if you are having a headache right now, drink a glass of water, and you will feel better in under thirty minutes.
Also, dehydration causes a lot of issues, like digestive issues, and now you can add headaches in this list too. So, keep a tab on your water drinking habits.
Take medication
If you want instant results, taking a single dose of ecosprin can help you. It reduces inflammation and helps relieve headaches too. You can buy ecosprin here.
But it is best to seek a doctor before taking this medication. Don’t take any over the counter measure without a proper checkup.
Sleep properly
When you don’t sleep enough or sleep too long, it can trigger headaches. When you don’t get proper rest, your whole body reacts badly to it, and you can get serious issues, one of them is a headache.
So, make sure that you get your proper 7 to 9 hours of sleep. To ensure that this happens, stop looking at your screen an hour before you go to sleep.
Use essential oils
Essential oils have tons of benefits as they are therapeutic. One of those benefits is easing headaches. The two best essential oils for this are peppermint and lavender oils. All you have to do is rub the peppermint oil on your temple to ease the symptoms.
If you prefer lavender oil, rub it on your upper lip and breathe it in and your headache will ease.
Be sure to read the instructions before you use them as you have to dilute them with coconut oil before applying on the skin.
Limit your intake of alcohol
Alcohol doesn’t cause headaches directly, but if someone suffers from tension or cluster headaches often, too much alcohol can worsen it or trigger it. So, try to limit your alcohol consumption.
But when you drink too much alcohol, it dehydrates you, which we all know can cause headaches.
Cold compress
A cold compress can alleviate the inflammation and relieve your headache. Put a frozen pea bag or put ice into a zip bag and press it on your neck, eyes, and forehead.
It will slow nerve conduction which can help you get better.
Try these remedies before you get mad at the next person screaming when you have a headache.
