There’s a setting in Windows that allows you to use your printer even if it’s offline. In this setting, the print document is saved and it commands the printer to proceed with printing the saved documents as soon as the printer comes online. But sometimes even if the printer comes online it still shows an offline error message.

The Printer Offline issue is faced by a lot of HP users and if you’re using an HP 4650 printer, there are chances you might be facing the same issue. And whenever you check your printer screen to find out the reason for that offline error message, you may see a couple of things.

  1. It still has a stable connection with your Wi-Fi
  2. It’s IP has not changed since you got it.

You might feel irritated that even after the printer is online it is still showing the offline error message. You just need to calm down and try following the below-mentioned steps one by one to fix the issue.

Step 1: Restart your printer-

In best practice, the printer should always be assigned an IP address manually i.e Static IP, but in case you didn’t do that at the start, restarting the Printer will allow DHCP(Dynamic host configuration protocol) to automatically assign a new IP address to your printer.

Step 2: If still there’s an Offline message after "Restart", then Press "Windows+R". A run window will open up. Type in the

search box, "control printers". A new window will open up showing the devices and printers connected to your computer.

Step 3: Find your printer. Right-click on that. Then check if it is set as the default printer or not. If no then set is as a "default printer". Then again right-click on it and click on "see what’s printing" option.

Step 4: Now right-click on the small new window that opens up and uncheck the pause printing option and use the printer offline option there.

Step 5: Now you can try printing a document.

If you are still facing the same sort of problem then you must have some problems with the drivers of your printer. To resolve this you can follow the steps below:

Step 1: Again Press "Windows+R". Type in the search box, "control printers". A new window will open up showing the devices and printers connected to your printer.

Step 2: Right-click on the printer icon that you are using. Then click on the remove device option. And then, yes to confirm the uninstallation.

Step 3: Now navigate www.123.hp.com on your web browser. Type the name and model number of your printer in the search box, i.e HP Office jet 4650, and hit the download button.

Step 4: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the download and once the download is complete, go to the download folder and select your driver.

Step 5: Double click on your driver and then follow the on-screen instruction to launch the installer.

Step 6: Now go to the www.123.hp.com page again to complete the registration and activation of your printer

Step 7: Restart the printer and try to print.

Hope your HP Office jet 4650 offline error is sorted successfully after these steps.
